Save your money and don't book here! If I could copy and post the text that this guy Francisco sent me, you would be blown away. He is extremely disrespectful and said some very hateful things to me. I never was able to stay here because Francisco, the hotel manager/owner (not sure which he is) contacted me well over a month after I made my reservation to ask me to cancel it!! He said it was double booked, and that he had a huge group coming, and he couldn't accommodate me, and if I wouldn't cancel it on my own that he would go ahead and just cancel it for me on booking. I couldn't believe it! I have never even heard of something like this happening. We had booked in advance, knowing that nothing would be available if we waited because we were there for the Caballo Blanco marathon and things fill up quick. I desperately looked for another room and literally zero was available anywhere. I reluctantly begged him to offer another solution since we had no other choice, and he finally said he could bump us to the hostel. So now instead of a hotel, we were going to have to share a room with people in a hostel but we were desperate. He offered no apology and also said that the price wouldn't be any different and that we should've paid triple for the hotel We were going to be staying in but he had forgotten to adjust the pricing online. I can't believe how unprofessional and unaccommodating this guy is. He is clearly out there for the money only and will do absolutely everything in his power to charge you for every last thing he can. I guess the best description for him would be a slimeball Money grubber. This may be a beautiful place-I don't know because my friend ended up missing her flight and we never were able to even make it there. Honestly, it was partially a relief not to support and be in the presence of such a dishonest person -

Francisco was very friendly and helpful. It was lovely relaxing in the pool and hot tub and chatting with other guests. A restaurant was conveniently situated a couple of minutes walk away. Easy parking in the street by the river.

Hotel Villa Urike is an absolute dream. Literally an oasis and the highlight of our trip through Copper Canyon. Francisco is an amazing host, who made sure we taken care of from the moment we booked, reaching out to check on our travel plans, offer advice and make arrangements for the bus to town, even arranging for the bus driver to stop at the mirador for us on the way. The hotel itself is gorgeous and feels like a boutique resort, with pool and loungers set in a garden, which provides plenty of shade. Drinking water is also provided. The room was spacious and comfortable with comfortable bed, A/C, and bathroom with hot water. Francisco also organised a tour to Chaco Verde and gave us advice on walks we could do on our own. I’d recommend a stay here to anyone visiting the area - definitely worth the bus ride down the cliff!

“The best hotel we stayed in when we traveled around Mexico”

Hotel was clean, pool was pristine. Was very quiet and peaceful. The hotel manager Francisco was very helpful, he helped us get to the hotel from the El Chepe express train station in Bahuichivo and gave us good recommendations of where to go hiking during our stay there. Very good value for money. This was the best hotel we stayed in while we were travelling in Mexico. I would definitely recommend this place to stay in.

Beautiful. Magical. Clean. Kind host. Our room was very big and the decor was very modern and delicate. Great high quality TV (with Netflix etc.) Very pretty bathroom and amazing shower. Bed was exquisite and the sheets were very soft. The garden was to die. 100% recommend, one of the best place we stayed in in Mexico.

“Wonderful - Urike is really beautiful and this was the perfect place to stay”

Beautiful well kept pool (and it was heated). The beds were really comfortable. Shower had great (violently good) water pressure. Francisco was incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. He helped us to get to the hotel (local bus from Bahuichivo station) and liaised again with the driver for us to be picked up a couple days later to make it back to the train. He also had great recommendations of where to eat and a really stunning walk to go on. Would highly highly recommend this hotel!

“Hotel Villa Urike excels!”

The small town of Urike is sits in a river valley on the base of an incredible canyon. The journey from the rim of the canyon to the base is breathtaking. The Hotel Villa de Urike is a modern boutique hotel that's simply the best in town and as good as any high qualty hotel I have enjoyed. The attention and information we received from Francisco was an example of how customer service should be. If travellers / hikers choose to explore Urike, this hotel is highly recommended.

There was not breakfast. I had to leave early to get the camioneta up to the train. This was very convenient. The location is attractive and quiet. I had a swim in the pool.

Un oasis in Barrancas de cobre. We felt well cared for, from the van that met us at the train stop to the impromptu and very excellent bbq. Te views from the Mirador are simply awesome and the 1 hr 3000 ft drive down to Urique will have you squirming in your seat. Loved it.
