Overview
Set in Cappadocia’s landscape of fairy chimneys, Yunak Evleri is a unique cave hotel carved into a mountain cliff. It offers rooms dating back to the 5th century and a 19th-century Greek mansion. Certain rooms include a balcony or a terrace where you can admire the views of Urgup. Rooms at Yunak Evleri feature warm hardwood floors, traditional carpets and handcrafted furniture. Each has its own spacious marble bathroom with amenities. Some include a jacuzzi. The on-site library offers books about Cappadocia and Turkey. Guests can also enjoy a large collection of jazz and classical CDs or watch a movie on a wide-screen TV in the old mansion. The attentive staff offer personal advice on the nearby attractions including Cappadocia’s underground cities and hidden cavernous churches. The hotel also organizes regular and private tours with professional tour guides.

“Excellent”
The hotel is amazing, the restoration of the old caves and the general styling is done with respect to the local architecture. The breakfast was great with many local dishes and products. The village of Urgup is one of the most beautiful in the area with nice restaurants, many things to do around and minutes drive from the popular attractions.

The cave dwellings provided an authentic stay experience. The breakfast spread was diverse and the a' la carte dinner was exquisite for the days we had dinner at their restaurant.

The hotel is impressive. It is build in the rocks, the view is impressive. Very unique architecture. But it is not unique for that region. The staff is helpful.

“Beautiful Cave Hotel in the Heart of Ürgüp”
Yunak Evleri is in an excellent location right in the heart of Ürgüp. It’s not the easiest place to find at first — there’s a sign off the main road, but the cobbled street leading to the hotel looks almost too narrow for a car. Rest assured, it is accessible, and the hotel offers excellent valet service to assist with parking and retrieving your vehicle. Check-in was smooth, and we loved the traditional touch of the room keys — each with a weighty, logo-engraved keychain that added a sense of charm and quality. Our room was spacious and well-appointed: the bathroom was nearly as large as the main living area and included both a shower and a jacuzzi tub, plus a bench just outside for sitting in the sun. The bedroom itself was huge and featured a raised lounge area, perfect for children. The room felt very secure, and while there’s central heating for the colder months, fans are provided for the summer — helpful, as the rooms can get warm at night. The hotel has two swimming pools: a shaded cave-style pool that stays cooler, and a standard outdoor pool with 1.4m depth. There’s also a small children’s pool, and towels are provided free of charge. Communication was excellent throughout. Shortly after booking, the hotel contacted us via WhatsApp to check if we had any special requests and to offer discounts for local tours and hot air balloon rides. Although we had already booked our balloon trip via Viator, it was good to know that the balloon shuttle buses do collect guests from Ürgüp, even as early as 4:30am, at no extra cost. Despite these early starts, the hotel remains peaceful and serene — and the whole property is absolutely beautiful, especially at night when the stone buildings and surrounding area are lit up. We highly recommend dining at Logarto, just a 4-minute walk away. It offers excellent food and stunning views of the valley — a perfect way to end the day.

Our room was beautiful and spacious. We were a little worried on arrival that we may feel a bit claustrophobic in a cave! Maybe it would be small and have little light. However, we were pleasantly surprised how spacious the room was and we could open the windows for light and air. It's a magical place and we are glad we stayed there.
