Lungi made our stay unforgettable. She took great care of us, is incredibly kind and warm. She has a wonderful family. And we loved the sweet dogs on the property. The location is surrounded by nature but also close to the city.

Whilst we did receive an email notifiying us of what and wouldn't be available at the house and what we would need to bring - it would be super helpful for each bathroom to have had a small bar of soap.

It is a lovely property, the garden is very well kept and plants were flowering. Very pretty. We loved the 3 dogs. The accommodation was comfortable but nit exactly what I expected. Staff friendly.

Really good "complete home" for a friend or family group with all facilities you'd need with a beautiful view of the Berg. Friendly hosts and visits from the resident dogs (and their pupp[ies) and chickens.

Being the sole occupants on our first night, our furbabies were free to explore and enjoy the vast gardens and surrounds in a safe fully fenced environment. Electric blankets were most welcomed during this time as the unit gets cold if the fire isn't lit! Fireplace added a beautiful touch to our overall winter chase and loved that there was complimentary wood to get us going for our first night! Our Yorkies are very verbal and the 2nd morning was a challenge to keep them calm and under wraps especially when the birds and donkeys made some noise! BONUS : no complaints yet! An unhurried walk from the unit to the river is approx 10-12min one way! The trail does go on but time didnt allow, so keen for anyone to time it at least to Balam for coffee! No TV ! Just peace and quiet with the odd noise of nature 🔥🍷🐶!

“Healing amongst the trees... soothing, cosy country living”

We had the loveliest stay at Pennygum... the location is central and ideal for families, especially with little ones... allowing for easy trips to and from Drakensburg Gardens, Sani Pass and to town. The hosts and staff were amazing, taking time to have meaningful chats and ensuring our stay was comfy. The plethora of trees, sunshine, sound of the constant fountain, mountain backdrop and furry friends we experienced was just that right kinda slow, country living a soul needs. The accommodation was quaint with all the things you need to cook a good meal, soak away troubles, sleep well and even work remotely. We are hoping to return to take advantage of the Sani Spoors trails on our next visit.
