Magnificent views, great fireplace and lovely ambience.

“Idyllic - highly recommend”

Pear Tree Cottage is an authentic old farm cottage, but with modern comforts added. It has a wonderful atmosphere with really fantastic views of the majestic Drakensberg. The cottage is super comfy, with a large kitchen, a lounge with a fire place for cozy evenings, and two decent size bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two singles. The bathroom has a lovely large claw-foot bath for long, indulgent soaks. The magnificent views can be enjoyed from the expansive garden, and the outdoor lapa-style eating / braai area. The cottage is fully serviced by friendly staff, which is such a bonus!

Very clean & the view is perfect

Most beautiful area, a wonderful place to relax and recharge. Wisdom is so pleasant and helpful. Even their dogs are like the people friendly and welcoming! A lovely farm stay, will return.

The country side scenery

We had an amazing stay at this vacation house! The view is absolutely breathtaking, and the comfort of the home made it easy to relax from the moment we arrived. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed.

Loved the authenticity of the old wattle and daub cottage, privately set on a beautiful farm with gorgeous views of the mountains and a cozy fireplace.Wisdom was an absolute star! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A Gem in the seclusion of the mountains. If you want to escape from everything this is the place to go. Plenty of walks, cycling and fishing.

Beautiful location; however, getting there was a challenge as the national roads are in a bad state of disrepair. This, coupled with the heavy mist, necessitated a very slow drive which made the trip feel much longer and tiring.

Quaint, old, farm cottage. Beautiful views. Tranquil. Cosy. Loved having a log fire on a chilly night. Loved the dogs visiting. Fresh flowers placed in areas. Pleasant walks. Wisdom is a wonderful host and manager. Nothing is too much trouble.

The cottage was cosy and comfy. We loved the outlook towards the mountains in the distance. Wisdom, the host, was an absolute star. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We loved having a fireplace - even in January. A fire was lit every night. We loved the dogs visiting. And the cat. It was great having the horses on the property too. We enjoyed the tranquility and nearby walks.

The property was as per the pictures on the site. This was more than adequate for us for an overnight stay.

We loved staying here! The environment was very pretty and calm with walking trails close to the cottage or from a close driving distance! The people were helpfull ans the cottage itself was very clean and comfortable.
