“Perect spot for a short or longer stay in the Berg”

The house is perfect for a group. The kitchen and dining area is big enough to cater for 10 people. The lounge leads onto a covered veranda and into a beautiful garden. We liked that the rooms were grouped into 2 wings of the house. A generator provided power during load shedding

Spacious, homely

We were unable to stay at the property as there is a 1km dirt road leading to the entrance. The rating is unfair because we did not stay there; however there should be a note to say there is a dirt road. Had I known there is a dirt road I would not have booked the accommodation. We were in a van and struggled and our other car travelling with us has low profiles, so we did not even risk the car on the road. we do not drive on dirt roads, even in the Kruger Park, we stick to the tar roads.

Hawley's self catering home is exceptional. The kitchen is big and fully equipped making preparation of every meal easier. The bedrooms are very neat, comfortable and every room has a view of the spectacular garden.The sitting room is big, cosy and a nice fireplace that warmed us up after hiking on a drizzling day. Wonderful dinning rooms and outdoor furniture are just great. The garden is well maintained and the view of the hill behind the property is just awesome. Hawley's house comes with the maid who is very helpful. There is also the backup for water, lights and wifi battery. The house is close to many scenery attractions. My family visited the Maloti Drakensberg National Heritage Park for hiking trails, ancient paintings in caves and beautiful nature. What a Christmas holiday we have!!!

Absolutely brilliant homely venue. Spacious and very comfortable for our crowd of 10 Beautiful garden for kids to play and huge swimming pool. Women could relax on the sunny verandah and feel safe while the men went out to fish. Caretaker is an asset to the venue - a silent angel that just appears. Also close to all the amenities

The house is beautiful. The scenery was absolutely perfect. The house was clean, warm and cozy. The extent of land was amazing with beautiful trees and even some wildlife. Everything that you need at home is there. It is very well equipped. I would definitely back.

Hawley House exceeded our expectations and also made for an amazing holiday. We were a large group of a few families and lots of children and we all enjoyed our stay completely. The children enjoyed the property and beautiful gardens and had plenty space to run free and play. The owners were so lovely to deal with and extremely helpful in fielding our continuous questions. Nomusa looked after us very well during our stay, she was amazing and did far more than we could have asked for. We will be looking for any excuse to go back as soon as possible :)

1. There was nowhere to put clothing in the one room so I had to live out of my suitcase. There is plenty of room for a small wardrobe or chest of drawers. This would have made my stay excellent instead of very good. 2. The room needs a small multiplug as I could not put the bedside lamp on at the same time as the heater
