I had such a wonderful stay at Villa south - Petra and Lasantha were amazing and thoughtful in helping me get strong wi fi in my room as I had some work zoom calls, I loved the pool and the short walk to the most beautiful sea and beach, the peacocks in the garden, the quiet.

The villa is lovely, especially the pool area and the staff that served breakfast, made food etc. were very helpful and kind. The breakfast and coffee was delicious. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and opened out onto the lovely garden.

Breakfast was outstanding. Every morning fresh juice, a plate with with fresh fruit , dark or white bread butter marmelade poached eggs, everything well prepared. I loved the swimming pool, comfy bed , dinner prepared according to my wish, Petra was an excellent manager and hostess as well, caring about my wishes and filled them for 100%.

I was lucky to came after the rain stopped and weather was beautiful already. Actually I did not leave the property except the morning swim by the small beach. Food was great and having the swimming pool for myself was perfect! Just relax with the book and drink in my hand. I know the area well so no desire for sightseeing.

Everything was perfect! Great location, near the beach with one big turtle every morning, which we were able to feed. Great and clean territory with awesome pool.

Petra the host and the rest of the staff is very friendly and helpful. We had some nice evening talks with her. The whole area of the villa is just beautiful. The pool and garden just amazing. Everything is very clean. The breakfast there was very delicious and freshly cooked for the guests. To our room: A/C worked like a charm, beds were very comfy, the bathroom spacious, the fridge working and the water bottle refilled once per day. Payment could be done via WISE money transfer. The whole stay was very calm and relaxing. If you are looking for a place like this you found it.

“A whole hotel for ourselves!”

We were the only guests and upon arrival we could choose whatever room we preferred. the owner is very friendly and the staff also. the room was very clean, spacious and it’s very good value for your money. we had our own TukTuk so we didn’t mind the driving into Unawatuna - but it’s a 10 minute drive, when you prefer the “hipper” restaurants. we tried for Thalpe beach but it wasn’t really our thing, the beaches around Wijaya beach though were beautiful. and if the sea isn’t rough, you can even spot seaturtles as the beaches in the area are perfect for nesting! we had the whole pool to ourself and we felt overall relaxed in the Villa South. we stayed two nights and we had two different breakfasts - one was a fruit platter, fresh bread with eggs however you wanted them, sausages, tea, coffee, jams. the other one was pancakes with jam, yoghurt, maple syrup and a fruit bowl. we had an electricity cut during the stay, as it’s normal in Sri Lanka, but the owner came directly with candles and was joking “not to burn the house down”. we only tried the breakfast, no lunch or dinner but they were ready to do anything you wanted from the menu they offered. we had an overall pleasant stay and would come again!

“Amazing host and place”

Petra, the GM of the hotel, has just been fantastic and I have a lot of admiration for her. When I arrived, there was a general power cut in the country, yet, no problem she managed to prepare a great dinner. Also, my credit card got eaten in an ATM but she helped me, came with me to the bank 2 days in a row, to make sure I get it back before I catch my flight. The hotel is great, the swimming pool is amazing, the food is lovely. I would love to come back with friends and enjoy my time a bit more this time around :)

“Relaxing atmosphere”

Perfect place if you want to relax and disconnect. Located close to a very nice beach. The owner Petra took good care of us and recommended interesting places to see around.
