Big property well maintained and very friendly owners. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast and dishes they cooked for us as late lunch and the pool is nice! We also booked a very nice Massage in the evening and it was really relaxing!

“The most lovely stay in Unawatuna”

This was by far one of the best hospitality I have ever experienced in my travelling till date. Melani and her team are the most kind and lovely people. They hosted us like a family and all the requests were very well taken care of. It was the perfect wrap for our Sri Lanka trip and we departed for home with the best memories from here. The hospitality, warmth and friendliness of the team hosting this place is beyond words can say. The property in itself is very amazing and relaxing.

Excellent location in Unawatuna to explore turtle beach, jungle beach and Unawatuna. We planned to stay for 3 nights and extended to a week as this was by far the best location we stayed at in Sri Lanka. They serve a rich breakfast and can do meals. There is a big swimming pool, the area is kid friendly and there a lot of animals to watch in the beaitiful garden of this family run facility. They help with organizing the tours.

The people are amazing and so kind. The room and facilities are fabulous. Absolutely loved our stay here. Would highly highly recommend.

Everything was excellent, staff, food and room were all above expectations, would stay again.

“A peaceful haven”

We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Villa Gaetano. It’s in a quiet area away from the main resort of Unawatuna which is what we wanted. There are a few restaurants within walking/tuk tuk distance as well and the accommodation offers dinner options although we didn’t have dinner there. We did have breakfast each morning which was a mix of Western and Sri Lankan, slightly different each morning, tasty and generous. On arrival we received a refreshing welcome drink and greeted by Melani and her friendly staff. She told us we had been upgraded which was a lovely surprise. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom, air conditioning, a hairdryer, fridge and kettle.The pool area is clean and well maintained and an enjoyable place to relax and cool off. Extra towels are provided. The garden area is beautiful and relaxing. The main town/beach area is about a mile away and accessible by walking along the main road or tuk tuk. There are nearby train stations Unawatuna (walkable) and Talpe (650 in a tuk tuk). We took a train to Galle from Unawatuna which was very cheap (20 LKR each) and only 2 stops. We used pick me on arrival to the accommodation but Melani organised our tuk tuk to Talpe when we checked out. Payment is cash only

Very spacious and clean area, with a pool and a lot of animals roaming around. Rooms are big and clean.

“A peaceful stay and very kind host”

This is a beautiful and peaceful property surrounded by nature. We loved watching the birds, squirrels and monkeys run around! The pool is a great relaxing area and our room was clean and spacious. We also had a nice balcony which we enjoyed. The breakfast is tasty and the owner and staff are all super helpful and kind. We wish we had stayed longer!!

“Lovely start to our holiday.”

Gamini, Christian and Melani who run the place know how to operate. Very efficient, attentive and friendly. The staff were great. Very peaceful and they arranged all the local transport and a pick up from the airport. Food was outstanding and a surprising amount of wild life. Easy to get to Galle and the station is only a 10 minute walk away. Recommend 3rd class along the coast. Very cheap and comfortable. Excellent place to stay if you want quiet but easy access to the beach or Galle.

“Welcome to Sri Lanka”

Our first time and first stop in Sri Lanka. I can not praise this gem enough. We were greeted and very well taken care of by Melanie and her family. It felt like coming home for me. My family had a great stay. Melanie's food was cooked from her heart. Location is great and close Gale, beaches etc. Thank you to Melanie and her family for introducing us to Sri Lanka and tour recomendations.

“Great experience here would 100% recommend and will be back”

The villa gaetano was amazing we stayed for 6 days and felt so welcome every single member of staff was so kind and made us feel right at home. The family were amazing nothing was ever too much and we had the best experience because of them Melanie was so sweet as we arrived early they looked after us and got the room sorted as soon as they could which we really appreciated. Helped us sort a taxi transfer when we left and tuk tuk transport throughout our stay we had breakfast most mornings because they made such good food and lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend staying here lovely location they’ve got a beautiful hotel and take good care of everything in the surrounding grounds too. Will definitely be staying there again when we return to unawatuna as they made our stay so special didn’t want to leave.

Amazing & fabulous stay @ vila Gaetano. The place is beautiful, peaceful & very well maintained. The overnight stay was truly enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety of foods , fresh & tasty. Highly recommended for a relaxing & memorable stay ⛺️❤️.
