The service of staff and management was exceptional. Management gave us a free room upgrade and took care of any issues. Chanuka was amazing from the time we checked in and checked out. The location is great close to the beach and local stores. Highly recommend staying here 15/10!

The room was one of the best rooms of all rooms we stayed in during our trip in Sri Lanka. It was very clean, comfortable, spacious and the view over the ocean was amazing. We wished we could have stayed there for a little longer. The location was great, the hotel was located one minute from the beach and we really appreciated sunbeds were included for hotel guests. There were many shops and restaurants in walking distance which we enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and helfpful at all times with anything! They made the stay special!

The staff was fantastic. Always a smile and ready to help. The roomwas great, view amazing. Location is very good just steps from the beach and very central in Unawatuna.

Very clean and quite rooms. All furniture in rooms looks like new, very good air condition and break fast. Everything looks like it should be in 5* hotel, without joking. And of cause beautiful beach is in 20m aside the hotel.

I’m not sure where to start! From the minute I stepped out of my taxi The Wave welcomed me with its glorious staff and their enthusiasm for attention to detail. A very small hotel just three rooms with a big warm heart. I’m sure there are more staff than rooms! Quality fresh breakfast. The room was big, clean, and had a boutique feel to it. with every amenity you could want, down to quality towels, bath robes and even straw sun-hats for the beach. Excellent shower. Nothing was too much trouble, and the best house keeping I’ve ever experienced. The sister restaurant over the road offered excellent food at ridiculously low prices and prime sun beds on the stunning beach with super staff and a really cute dog! I was really sad to leave, I will certainly be back.

The rooms were large, very well maintained, very clean. The staff were amazing and always welcomed us with a smile. The room was tidied and cleaned more times every day. The neat towel sculptures on the bed changed every day and every time the room was cleaned - always with I nice card and also a goodbye present. The breakfast was served with pride - and what a breakfast! Just amazing. Thank you to the young men who made our stay memorable.

The staff were amazing, they looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble. They deserved a beach bed every day for us in a great location. The location was fantastic , not noisy but bars and restaurants close by.

An amazing shower, hot water in abundance, clean room, very good AC, a huge and super comfortable bed, daily towel change (and daily towel surprises from the 2 “towel artists” in the staff), breakfast with a lot of amazing fruits and plenty of options everyday (we discussed daily what to have for breakfast the next day as it was sort of à la carte and not buffet). The location right across the beach was also very good. Amazing staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, they organised some surprises for me for my birthday and generally were super supportive with all requests we had.

We had two rooms at The Waves for 7 days and were really impressed with the two upper rooms which had clearly been recently renovated and are position close to the beach and nearby bars and restaurants. The staff The Waves really are the stars of the show, they are incredibly friendly, hardworking and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We all said we'd love to come back so hopefully this isn't our last stay!

“A Hospitality Gem in Unawatuna! Must visit.”

Basically everything and I mean it. I have been an avid traveller all my life (more than 100 countries) -from early backpacker days to staying in luxurious resorts. During the holiday Xmas season, we thought to try this boutique hotel given the inflated prices and unavailability during this season. Wow... What a surprise to us ..a truly undiscovered gem and no match to the hospitality here! 1)The rooms are sparkling clean. In fact cleaner than what I saw in Anantara or similar places. They clean (at least twice a day) The staff and managment will make anything they can do to make you feel at home. 2) The breakfast, served in the beach located restaurant opposite (called the Hot Rock) is splendid and they serve you seated in 4-5 courses with a breathtaking view of ocean and waves! 3) very central location in Unawatuna with everything reachable by short walk and little tuk tuk ride if little further out of town 4) the overall unstressed and relaxed vibes 5) the special attention in every little thing. (They notice we came back from a trip every day and would bring some nice fresh juice/ice coffe/sandwiches for free by themselves) 6) special thanks to Chanuka and the manager boss ;) 7) very responsive via whatsapp for anything you might need. Overall, strongly recommended if you look for: great great service, cleanliness, great bathroom, superb breakfast, amazing location and a feeling of being welcomed. Ps: there is a special surprise I won't talk about you can find once or twice a day in your room! Enjoy amazing Sri Lankan hospitality

“Excellent”

We cannot recommend The Villa highly enough. We originally came here 23 years ago, on our honeymoon and had an amazing time. Returning this year, we couldn’t believe how the beautiful classic rooms with gorgeous four poster beds were all still the same. Some of the staff were the same too, which was lovely and we shared old photos of our original stay. The staff really are amazing, this isn’t a big hotel, only 6 rooms, but it is so lovely and one of the original 4 places you could stay when we first came. The combination of beautiful, classic rooms, with staff who really care, makes for the best possible experience. Shhhhh… don’t tell anyone else, I want to be able to book to come here again!

“Nice beach hotel”

I really liked the location right on the beach – it was amazing to wake up and be just a few steps from the sea. The facilities were great and everything I needed was provided. I could have breakfast at the restaurant across the street, which was very convenient. The bathroom had all the essentials, and there were free sunbeds on the beach – a big plus!
