“Planned 3 nights, stayed 6 because…”

…it was a super lovely, private and luxurious green oasis. The facilities are very well maintained (bungalows are being painted even once a year), the pool is beautiful and the bungalows are coming with great level of detail and dedication. The manager Dush and his sister are really going above and beyond and will make sure, you got a great stay. We rented a scooter for the time and had a great time scootering around the area and spend quite some time at the beach in Unwatuna (only 10-12 min. scooter ride from the bungalows). Thank you very much for everything!

We love everything about this place! It was our second visit and we can only recommend this accommodation. There are only 3 bungalows, situated around a nice pool. They are very comfortable and spotless. Breakfast is lovely with fruit, eggs and toast. We also had hoppers one morning. The staff, Dush and his sister, are just amazing and made us feel at home right away. We hope to return soon ❤️

Beautiful layout of bungalows, lots of space, felt very private . Friendly atmosphere from the hosts, really felt like a home from home. Dush was helpful in organising trips, transport etc and a useful mine of information.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Thalpe Bungalows. It was lovely having so much private space and the bungalows are built to a very high standard and are immaculate. We enjoyed having a large fridge to keep drinks in. The pool is great: very clean and large enough to never feel crowded even if all the bungalows are occupied. It was an easy walk to the local beach and several restaurants, and an easy 10minute tuk tuk ride to Unawatuna for a wider range of places to eat. Our hosts looked after us very well and we enjoyed the cooked breakfast every morning.

Comfortable and very clean bungalow and with only 3 properties, ample space around the pool and assigned own sunbeds. The relaxed breakfast prepared individually was great, particularly the fresh fruit platter to start. Our laundry was also done for us which after travelling for over a week, we were very grateful for.

A beautiful, elegant property in a calm and local community setting. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. The bungalows are only a short walk from the main road where it is easy to pick up transport to go to neighbouring beaches. There is also a beach in Thalpe, but we tended to go to Unawatuna, where we found the water calmer. We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend it to others.

The bungalows were just superb. A bit of luxury to start our travels in Sri Lanka. Could not have asked for more. Fabulous breakfasts, short walk to the beach and nice restaurants.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay at. Beautiful, calm, relaxing, very clean and well maintained. If you are lucky, monkeys and varans can be seen on the premises. Many services like swimming pool, outdoor shower, good breakfast, laundry, food services, possibilites to have professional ayurveda massage on site. The hosts Dush and Latha are adorable and lovely to speak with and they help you in an excellent way with good suggestions, bookings, places to visit.

This place is incredible. The most beautiful bungalows in the most beautiful setting. The hosts were so lovely and kind. Even went out of the way for us to store our hire tuk tuk and helped when my son cut his finger. The pool was lovely and clean.

We had an exceptional stay at Thalpe Bungalows! The most valuable part of the experience was the personal touch from the owner, who greeted all guests warmly and made everyone feel truly welcome. The entire property was spotless, with everything kept neat and clean, which added to the comfort of the stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, kind, and attentive, always ensuring guests felt at ease. All these thoughtful details combined to create a wonderful home-like atmosphere that made the stay unforgettable.

What stands out is that there are only three bungalows so there are many people what makes the place really relaxing, quiet and familiar. Pool is great for kids and service was exceptional friendly.

The bungalow was spotlessly clean and kept that way for the duration of our stay. Breakfast spot on every morning with a nice surprise of a Sri Lankan breakfast one morning, hoppers, coconut sambol, dhal curry and lovely fresh crusty bread. Mmmm. Dush was so accommodating phoning an order for us for meal delivery when we decided to stay in for the evening. He also arranged reliable tuk tuks for us and an airport transfer in a lovely clean air conditioned car. We really enjoyed the chats with Dush and Lata about the Sri Lankan way of life and their families, asking loads of questions which they were more than happy to answer when they could. Nothing was too much trouble and always smiling. Wish them all the best for the future and hope to return to this beautiful island some time in the future. Bohoma Istouti. xx

We had a great stay. Our bungalow were spacious, well equipped both inside and in the porch/poolside. It had the best shower of our entire trip with reliable and plentiful hot water. Kandush and Latha looked after us really well from the lovely breakfast every morning to long chats about the local area and where to find things. A great stay. We will be booking again. Thank you
