Exceptional stay from start to finish! The surroundings were absolutely breathtaking — peaceful, beautiful nature everywhere you look. It truly felt like a hidden paradise. The host was incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive, making us feel at home right away. Every detail exceeded our expectations, from the comfort to the atmosphere. Without a doubt, this was the best stay we’ve ever had. We can’t wait to come back!

Milkyway is probably the mot unforgettable hotel experience ever from start to end! Starting from location which feels like being in the middle of jungle, to really caring staff, which greeted us with amazing coconut drinks and helped us throughout our 5 days stay 🙏🏻 Would definitely come back if I ever visit Sri Lannka again and would recomend for other travelers too. Only being able to see a lot of different animals and plants every day was something I never experienced before and made me fell in love with the place: apart from cow,monkeys, water lizzards, eagle, kingfishers and other birds, if you are patient and you wait for the night you will see paradise of fireflies! Rooms and were really big and comfy too, and had everyrhing you need with beautiful nature sounds waking you up in the morning. It's also really close ti beautiful buddhist temple in the mountains where you can go for sunrise! Would recommend breakfast too, its unlimited ammount of different local foods for really great price! If I could I would give 100 stars!5

This is the place for nature and animals lovers as you'll be very close to them in ths idyllic place: had quite a few ants around my room, a cockroach hanging out in my semi-open bathroom every night and some spiders as well - and DO NOT look inside the holes in the ground just outside the bungaloes, you don't want to know what lives outside! I was massively freaked out when my curiosity got the better of me! Otherwise, the place is beautiful but also really quiet and a bit away from the hustle around the beach. Not for the faint of heart though.

“Unique stay surrounded by nature”

We stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The property is surrounded by nature and Nanda was extremely kind and helpful and arranged for our washing to be cleaned have breakfast on our beautiful balcony for a great price. The property is a quick tuk tuk ride from the beach and hardly cost anything.

“Amazing + kind Staff and a beautiful setting”

We had the most amazing few nights staying at Milkyway Holiday Resort. The staff here are the most welcoming people we have met in all of Sri Lanka. Nanda, the manager was so kind and helpful throughout our stay and made us feel like family at the resort. If you stay you must get the breakfast as it is exceptional! We ate until we couldn’t eat any more! Nanda also gave us a tour of the grounds, they have lots of beautiful wildlife here- lizards, monkeys, birds & a wide variety of fruit trees. The room was clean and comfortable and the air conditioning is very good. We wish we could have stayed for longer. We will for sure be back! Thank you so much!

“The heaven”

I very much enjoyed the peace and silence of this magical place, surrounded by the jungle and with the sounds of different types of animals. Nanda (who is the manager) was very hospitable and charming to me. Having conversations with him I learned many things from this wonderful country. I got sunburned one day and they gave me aloe vera from their garden and also for a blister on my foot. I was quickly recovered from both things. Thank you Nanda and the other staff for your kindness and generosity. I truly recommend this lovely place.

I loved my first visit to Milkyway Holiday Resort so much that I had to come back and bring my partner along! As always, the stay was incredibly comfortable — the beds are super cozy, and the entire property is just stunning, surrounded by nature and a peaceful lagoon. The hosts are truly the sweetest, and their warmth makes you feel right at home.

I absolutely loved the peaceful setting of Milkyway Holiday Resort. It’s a beautiful property nestled in nature, right by a serene lagoon. The views were stunning and made for the perfect backdrop to unwind. It's also conveniently located just a 20-minute walk from Unawatuna Beach, which was super handy. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

Very nice grounds and surroundings, the people are extremely friendly and very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was really good, also enjoyed the welcoming tea and the fresh coconut. Good airconditioning.

“Enjoyable and affordable stay!”

We were staying here for two weeks and the place started to feel like home. The hospitality is way beyond. The manager, owner and people there were so friendly and we are so happy to get to know them. Breakfast is huge and delicious, we highly recommend to take it with 900lkr. If you are looking for a affordable but nice place to stay, just choose this one. Definately value for money! The place is near the train station and you can find restaurants by walking but we rented a scooter right next to the place with three minutes walk. Enjoy your stay if you choose this one <3

The hotel is surrounded by nature. In the morning you can see monkeys and hear the birds sing, at night there are loads of fireflies. Everyone who is working there is so nice and helpful. We really liked staying at Milkyway Holiday Resort. The room has AC and the bed was very comfy. The room had a table and chairs to play games or eat, also outside there were benches and chairs to hang out.
