“Wow! Just wow!!!”

Wow - just wow! From the moment we arrived, the staff were helpful and attentive, but the Cabana and its location on (or just above) the beach was spectacular. This is obviously made incredibly special by the Green Turtle who swim in the shallows directly outside your veranda. I won't go into the ethics of feeding or touching these beautiful animals and whether it is right or wrong (there is one sign suggesting the latter). But either way you cannot help but be excited by the sight of a turtle swimming right up to you in such clear warm seas. But back to the Cabana, we found it very clean and comfortable, we also ate all our meals here and a big shout out to the chef - the food is exceptional!! Overall we had the best time, we experienced the biggest & closest thunder & lightening storm ever on record (in our opinion) , we ate like kings, swam with turtles, walked on the beach, relaxed and loved every minute of our stay ... Thank you!

The villa was spacious and clean and the grounds had so many spots to sit/ lay/ chill with friends while taking in the morning or evening sun. We absolutely loved its proximity to the beach where we could see turtles. The Shalin and all the staff were very helpful and accommodating and we never felt rushed or stressed out.

If you want a truly relaxing stay where you feel like you’re on a tropical island this is the place. The huts are spaced out so you have complete privacy while still being close to the bar/restaurant and beach. Definitely gonna miss going to sleep in the cabana with the fan on overhead and the waves crashing outside.

The beach was lovely, the Bungalow authentic looking . The bed was comfortable and sheets clean . Shalin was helpful , the chef was good and cooked tasty food and most of the staff were helpful & friendly.

“Can’t recommend enough”

We loved our stay here. The hut is right on the beach and turtles everywhere which you can swim with. You can have all your meals on the terrace which was really nice. It was my partners birthday whilst we were staying and they organised a cake… can’t recommend this place enough

Friendliness and helpfulness of all staff. Location was idyllic overlooking the beach where turtles gather daily. Quality food options and good breakfast.

“Blissful beach cabana”

What a beautiful place. Yes, it's a beach cabana, so be prepared to be a little outdoorsy. But the bed is cosy, the rainshower is amazing, and the views of the sea from your private veranda are perfect. The cove is perfect for swimming, and you'll be lulled to sleep by the sound of waves at night. For those who mention the train, it goes past for two seconds a couple of times a day as far as I heard. There is plenty of space in the grounds to sunbathe and have peace and quiet. Go see the turtles at the beach down the way first thing before the groups arrive (but please don't touch them!). The staff were wonderful, so sweet and helpful, the seafood incredible (what is that sauce?), and the massages one of the best I've ever had at a very good price.

“Beach front location and immaculate grounds.”

Magnificent beach front location. Nicely furnished room - we were in the apartments- with a wall of windows facing the sea. Immaculate grounds with ample comfortable loungers. Super staff. Warm and welcoming. Easy to catch Tuk Tuks or Uber into Galle from outside the gate. Great food from on site restaurant.

On the beach …great food in the evening. Can recommend both the tuna and the kalamari Very attentive staff (and very attractive too) Two of us had massages whilst staying there which were excellent … great value for money… well worth booking one if you’ve time!

Wow!! The room location I do t think you could get any closer to the water itself without getting wet! Amazing bungalow, sleeping with the crashing waves, waking up to turtles poking their heads out of the water!! Staff amazing and very attentive.

The location could not be closer to the beach. The food was tasty and we had it on our veranda. The team were attentative and were very helpful.

I stayed in one of the bungalows along the beach and it was so beautiful. I booked here for the last few days of a busy trip so it was really relaxing and a nice end to a great trip. I could see the turtles from my balcony. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The food was good too.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay at Galawatta Beach Resort in Unawatuna was the absolute highlight of our trip! We had a beautiful bungalow right in front of the beach – it felt like paradise. The food was incredibly delicious, and the whole property was very well maintained and lush with greenery. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, especially Shalin, who was a really nice guy and always helpful. The view of the ocean was just breathtaking, and the accommodation itself was cozy, clean, and beautifully designed. The beach, with turtles swimming right in front of us, was an absolute dream. We would come back here any time – truly the perfect place to relax and enjoy Sri Lanka’s natural beauty!
