We had such a lovely stay at Family retreat . It was a nice authentic experience with a local family who are very enthusiastic for hospitality. The location within easy and very pleasant walking distance to the glorious Unawatuna beach. An added bonus was meeting Nadun, our host , a wonderfully warm and very interesting gentleman who has full of wisdom and knowledge. Nadun's wife made us delicious fruit juices and salads and she is charming and friendly. As many tourists and locals visit her small restaurant we were able to meet people and share our experience. The service was excellent, the room very well appointed and comfortable. We felt a feeling like home away from home. surrounding area so appealing. Highly recommend this small home stay.

Nadun, his family and friends gave us such a warm welcome to this beautiful property. Superb spacious accommodation that was exceptionally clean. I especially liked the bedding and felt comfortable. Nadun organized everything for us from a whale watching trip and other transportation as we explored some of South Sri Lanka. Authentic home cooking Sri Lankan breakfast was served on our terrace. The service and care was certainly one of the best I have ever experienced - they really made the whole stay exceptional. The hotel also arranges a short tuk tuk to Galle Fort and Unawatuna beach with no hassle transfer and pickup. All in all, I can only recommend a stay at the Family Retreat Unawatuna.
