We loved this hotel! The owner was so, so sweet. Our wallet was stolen on the bus and to cheer us up, he gave us the biggest room. So nice! The breakfast was absolutely to die for! The swimming pool was amazing. 100% recommended!

We enjoyed chilling out here during the day to take a break and escape the heat. Room was really big and comfortable, very clean, mosquito nets worked well, good shower pressure. Best breakfast we had the whole trip, way too much food and we ended up taking it with us!

Abundia was our last stop after a 3 weeks round trip through Sri Lanka and it was one of the best! We were so warmly welcomed by the host, got a welcome drink and wet towels for refreshment. Everyone who worked there was extremely helpful and nice. We also had dinner twice which was amazing. One thing I also have to mention is that this was the ONLY accomodation where the Wifi worked perfectly! The host also organised a good airport transport for a fair price, the rooms and balcony area were spacious and perfectly clean. I can only recommend everyone to stay here, we enjoyed it a lot!

Hospitality! Gamini - owner of the spot is a beautiful person giving you his heart. My daughter had birthday during our stay and Gamini made it an experience. Next - the property is close to everything you need. Tuk tuks are bringing you everywhere - restaurants, beach, shops around withing couple minutes.. We were happy here🙏

Everything went large here. The room, breakfast, hammocks by the pool and even larger hearts from the Abundia family, definitely recommend & an extra large thank you for having me, letting me change my dates last minute and also check in early :-)

We absolutely loved our stay. The host was amazing and all the staff were friendly and willing to help with anything. The rooms were comfortable with lovely seating outside. The pool was great, clean and a perfect temperature. It's as if Abundia was built above a well of positive energy! We felt so safe, relaxed and taken care of the minute we arrived. The beds were comfy with lovely pillows, and the room was spacious with fridge, kettle and even chopping board and knife for fruit. Highly recommend staying here!

Couple early 30s, 5 night stay. Comfort 10/10 Facilities 10/10 Staff 10/10 Breakfast 10/10 If you are staying in Unawatuna you won’t find a better accommodation than this. It should be advertised as a 5 star. We have been travelling for almost a month, staying in 8 other accommodations and this was by far the best place we stayed in. The best thing about this place is the staff. Mr Gamini; the owner; is the friendliest man in the world who greets you with open arms from the minute you arrive to the second you leave. The attention to detail for ultimate comfort for all guests is second to none. The staff effortlessly make it their mission to make sure that your stay is as enjoyable and as comfortable as possible. Our air conditioning wasn’t working when we arrived. We went out for dinner and while we were out the staff had done everything they could to repair it as soon as possible. When we returned from dinner it had been fixed as good as new. The room was very spacious with comfortable, big beds. It is immaculately clean on arrival and everything you need for your stay is provided. The bathroom is very large and the shower has good pressure and temperature consistently. Big bottles of branded shampoo, conditioner and body lotion is provided for our use. The pool is good sized and compared to the other hotel pools we saw in Sri Lanka, it is clean and comfortable to swim in. There’s a lot of cushioned sun beds around the pool, and the great thing is that in the afternoon the pool area is shaded. So if you’ve had too much sun it’s a nice, cool area to relax in. A bonus was that whenever we spent time around the pool area, complimentary drinks would be unexpectedly made for us. We really felt looked after and taken care of. (Picture 1) Breakfast was amazing. There is quantity and quality. So many varieties of food all fresh and delicious. A perfect way to start each day. (Picture 2) Dinner was equally delicious with a decent price.

What a lovely hotel and family.. We enjoyed our stay a lot. We had a enormously big room. The breakfast was really amazing and we could eat as many is we wanted. The pool was very nice and big and ther were a lot of beds.

“Highly recommend for a local, friendly, relaxing stay”

We were so well looked after here the last week, I think we left feeling more like friends than guests. Very helpful staff. Very clean. Lovely pool. Calm environment, not busy but not too quiet either. Friendly atmosphere for an occasional chat with other guests, but also much privacy and space. It was great to be located a 5 minute tuktuk from the main strip to get away from the hustle and bustle and high prices. Using the pickme app to get tuktuks was easy, and our base was perfect to explore the area. The pool and sea water temperature and weather here in February couldn't have been more perfect for bathing. We had home-cooked, tasty, healthy meals at Abundia too, often eating on the peaceful veranda, which made a pleasant change from restaurant food. Chilling on the veranda, on our private hammock and sunloungers and having a big fridge and knife, chopping board, plates was a bonus to cut fruit and make sandwiches for the kids. Our daughter had earache late at night, and Gaminy and his family couldn't have been more helpful, getting their own driver and sending us to a local hospital. Within 50m approx, we had a bakery, laundry, small supermarket, somebody to fix jewellery, pharmacy and restaurants/takeaway. All very much for the locals rather than tourists, which made for lovely conversations with the business owners. The pharmacist and many others were so kind and helpful to us. Best family holiday for us yet.

Our host family and staff were friendly, accommodating and made us feel very welcome. A very comfortable and spacious room (and bathroom) overlooking the pool from the balcony was a pleasant place to sit and take in the lovely gardens. Breakfast was included in a very reasonably priced room rate, served in the dining area next to pool with a home cooked dinner also available for a modestly priced extra sum, personally served on our balcony by our host Gamini. Nothing was too much trouble, early check in, later check out, organising a tuk tuk for Galle trip, information on area and help with bags all made us feel very special. Highly recommend a stay here.

“Friendly stay”

A very welcoming host. Very large room. Nice balcony with comfy chairs. Big breakfast with lots of fruits and baked goods. A short walk into town and easy to get along the coast on the bus to visit different beaches. Train passes by the garden a few times a day which was fun.

Clean, spacious rooms, gorgeous pool, great location, host went out of his way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and dinner served outside of room was freshly cooked and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble, we loved it here.

Rooms look exactly like in the picture, they are quit big, rooms where clean and spacious. We really enjoyed this place, I would stay there anytime. Owner was really helpful and friendly, they welcomed us with open arms and heart. Breakfast was amazing, lots of fruits and big variety to choose. We loved everything about this place, location was with walking distance with everything. We highly recommend this place. This hotel area had lovely garden with nice pool area. House staff was cleaning all day long, it was really clean :)

Quiet boutique hotel near the resort coast. Unfortunately we spent only one night at this home hotel, but we would certainly choose it next time for a holiday on the Unawatuna coast. The owners do their best for the guests - a welcome drink upon arrival with a short information video about local attractions in a wonderful new house with spacious rooms with good soundproofing. We would call it a boutique hotel, because the owners certainly brought a piece of their soul and ethnic flavour into the interior, which is certainly lacking in Sri Lanka. On these beds my wife felts like a princess :). There were even plates with a knife in the room; it was convenient to eat the mango we bought in the shop across the road. The owner speaks excellent English (unusual for this country); we could have learned more about the local life if we had stayed at the hotel longer. Dinner, served individually on the terrace in front of the room, is excellent, as is the breakfast. The hotel is near the street, but not noisy, the long beaches of Unawatuna are a couple of minutes away by tuktuk. Please keep up the good work!
