Very nice and calm place in the jungle. Near the national park. Very helpful owner. I like style of cottages and whole area. Lot of space in the room (so it should be more hooks on clothes).

Many thanks for welcome drink, amazing breakfasts and well organised Safari where we were lucky to see elephants that much close! P.S. Elephant Transit Home is in around 700 - 750 meters from this place which was very important for me as it was one of the main reasons of my trip to Udawalawa

Good location .very quite place and clean ,we had a nice stay

One of the best stays we had in Sri Lanka. The host was really caring and did everything he could to make us feel welcomed. Not only did he arrange a private morning safari for us (for a good price), but also welcomed us with fresh juice and prepared delicious, huge breakfast and dinner. Everything fresh and home-made. The rooms were really clean and spacious. It’s a short walk from the main road so it was peaceful and quiet all day and night. All you could hear is the sound of nature. There’s a hammock in the garden, perfect for enjoying all of that. We regret staying there only one night! Would definitely go back.

Very welcoming host family, super peaceful location. Excellent breakfast. Safari tour was exceptional, our guide really made an excellent tour for us.

Very beautiful structure full immersed in the nature. The room was perfectly clean with everything you need, also all the switch nearby the bed. The price is very cheap and the host organize safari at a very good price. Recommended

We had a wonderful stay, an accommodation that I can totally recommend. Surrounded by nature, great rooms, delicious breakfast and loving staff.

Everything was perfect, I'd give it 11 out of 10! Big comfortable room, big breakfast and nice garden. The owner was very attentive.

“Wonderful place in udawalawe”

I would definitely recommend staying here + Communication was good from the start, and the owners and family were very nice and welcoming. It was in a great location because we could easily walk to the elephant orphanage which we did twice! There are places to eat nearby and because we had an early morning start for our safari we were made a breakfast box from the hotel.

The property was beautiful, the staff were amazing and very helpful. Organised safari for us at a very reasonable rate and made a delicious breakfast for afterwards. Rooms were basic and spacious but reflective of the price. Great stay, would recommend.

We had a good stay overall. The food was amazing. we honestly didn’t expect Sri Lankan food to be this good. The owner was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.

“Excellent property in the nature”

Great location at the edge of the forest that suits perfectly a safari excursion. Breakfast and dinner were home made and delicious and could be enjoyed surrounded by squirrels. The host organised us a safari and a taxi to our next destination. The prices were always fair.

The location and the houses are amazing. You feel like you are in the jungle. We saw monkeys and pracocks in the garden and our house was really clean and comfortable. Also the terrace in front is great, and hammocks are available. The family is great! Communication beforehand was easy and fast, the owner welcomed us with a drink and organised our safari. The safari was also great - with a knowledgeable, friendly guide and a safe car. The owner cooked dinner and we loved it! You should definitely go for it once there. Also the breakfast was tasty and a lot, and we could enjoy it after our morning safari. We definitely recommend staying at wild river side, there's absolutely no reason not to do so.

“Excellent stay”

The host at wild river side was very friendly, he gave my friend aloe vera from his garden for her sun burn and a lovely ginger tea on arrival. We had dinner also which was lovely. He organised our safari and departure transfer. The cabin was lovely, well equipped and had great Aircon.

Nice cottage in a lush garden. Charming from the outside, simple but spacious from the inside. The owner and his family are super friendly. He arranged a good safari for reasonable price, she cooked a very delicious rice & curry, plus take a way breakfast.
