This was the only place that didn’t scam you if you don’t book a safari with them, so we 100% recommend (even if you arrange the safari with them of course). The staff was really welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable with AC. The hotel was immersed in nature which was really pleasant.

Scam - they require you to book a safari with them, otherwise they cancel your reservation.

The stay is amazing. One of the best i have stayed in srilanka. Very value for money , has all the necessary things. Very clean. It has a huge natural garden which is like heaven. Just 8 to 10 km from safari place. Owner can arrange for safari as well. The food is very good. Owner is very helpful

Fantastic hosts, really friendly and accommodating. The facilities are good and the location perfect, particularly if you are going on a nearby safari.

“A magical secluded place to stay to see Udawalawe National Park”

Beautiful, secluded jungle garden. Janith the host was outstanding. This is a lovely, family run place. Everything was beautifully presented. Welcomed with scrummy freshly made juice. Food was delicious. Janith organised an excellent safari guide Nandana, who is an expert on birds. We booked a full day which was well worth it. We saw an incredible amount of wonderful birds, masses of elephants, two types of Mongoose, black-naped Hare, crocodiles …. the list is long. It was a treat from beginning to end. Janith prepared a perfect breakfast and lunch to have on Safari. We would strongly recommend you book your Safari guide with Janith to get a genuine expert.

Highly recommend this place! The rooms are beautifully furnished, cute green bathroom with the best shower we had in Sri Lanka. The whole little jungle garden is really cute. The highlight however was the host Janith. We were welcomed with drinks, he booked us a driver to our next location and gave us more recommendations for things to see on our travels. He even lent us books about the local wildlife and told us about the animals we might see on Safari which made our safari even better. He always made sure we had everything we needed.

Looovely hosts! The lunch and dinner they made us was the most delicious local food on the whole trip. It is a good sign when the food takes 2-3 hours to make :) Exotic feeling and location. Helped us to organize a safari as well.

“Amazing Host, Staff and Safari!”

Amazing atmosphere, far away from the big road, it feels like we are in the jungle! Very friendly staff and we had the best kottu roti there we had so far. Safari was also amazing, good organized and we got some breakfast to take in the jeep. Rooms simple and clean.

Exceptional value for money. The hosts were so unbelievably kind and helped with our luggage, booking taxis, and gave recommendations for the area and nature. We had a welcome drink on arrival too, the most wholesome experience. Really felt like home, and wish we stayed here a bit longer. Couldn’t expect more and would recommend to anyone.

Very friendly family that fixed take away breakfast for our safari and made sure were always hade a good stay

Set in its own well crafted garden down a quiet lane. We stayed in the family bungalow and dulux double. Both rooms comfortable and with verandas. Great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked by the family. We undertook a 3km walk on largely quiet local lanes to see a huge Flying Fix colony take flight for the night at dusk. Took a Pick-Me back. Blue Sapphire can put you in touch with a great guide for Uda Walawe and send you off in your safari jeep with a packed breakfast. Also helped in arranging onward transport. All great value too for the quality of the rooms and ambience.

Amazing place with beautiful surroundings in the jungle. The staff was amazing and helpful. They arranged a safari at a fair price (26 dollars + entrance fee) and ordered us a free ride to the bus station. We were really happy with the stay here, especially because we read online, that som hotels try to scam you with cheap hotels and forces bookings of overpriced safaris. The safari was amazing as well. We saw many elephants, often alone without any other jeeps. Furthermore the host packed us a nice breakfast to bring on the safari.

Delightful family who made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much, went above and beyond all the time. Super clean accommodation, great location & amazing staff. The dinner they cooked us was so delicious & breakfast prepared by 5.30am to take on Safari was lovely too. Highly recommend to others.

The staff was very friendly and cooperative. They freshly prepared vegetarian food for us. It was very tasty. The room was clean and tidy. The environment of this resort was very peaceful. Highly recommend this for all.

“Lovely place and lovely people”

This is a very peaceful resort set amongst the forest. Although we only stayed one night we could tell that the staff and owners really took pride in the place and in providing amazing hospitality. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were spectacular. They catered for us as vegans and made the best kottu we have tried in Sri Lanka. They told us all about the plants and the fruits on the grounds, and generally went above and beyond for us. We could not understand why this place did not have more reviews and guests. We can only guess that there is a lot of competition in Udawalawa but this place is extremely underrated and should not be overlooked.

The staff were so friendly and it’s a homely atmosphere. Dinner was very tasty, we had the chicken Kottu with potato curry! The rooms are clean and spacious with air conditioning.

Very friendly staff, we had a great time, they shared a lot of interesting and fun stories about Sri Lanka. Great garden with 110 ayurvedic trees and plants. We ended up staying longer than initially planned. In the morning, you'll get to hear Beethoven's "Für Elise", the signature sound of the Tuc Tuc bakery, which offers sweet snacks and swings by regularly.
