The swan boat on the lake was fun. Dinner both nights was very tasty and host was very helpful and friendly. The view over the lake was very nice and there were lots of birds, a nice peaceful environment.

Beautiful location. If you love nature this is a paradise location. The family was delightful and very helpful. The food at the accommodation was some of the best we’ve tasted in Sri Lanka.

Very peaceful location right on the lake. Not quiet during the day with peacocks and other birds plus the water buffalo passing twice a day but peaceful nonetheless. Owners were really helpful arranging food safaris and onward transfer.

“Calm location at the lake with proximity to main street”

We enjoyed our recent stay at Pelicane Lake a lot. We were welcomed with a coconut drink and enjoyed a great lunch upon arrival. Our host was very friendly, always ready to assist. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The rooms were equipped with AC and a balcony with a view into the nice garden and towards the lake. The location of Pelicane Lake is perfect for both relaxation and exploration. We started our tour into Udawalawe National Park from here and it was a short walk to main street where lots of restaurants could be found. Overall, my experience at Pelicane Lake was fabulous and very relaxing.

amazing spot on the lake, very peaceful to stay during the day by the lake and riding on the swan watching the incredible view of the buffalos crossing the lake. the owner is very nice and helpful. we had a flat tire so he made sure someone fix it and we were ready to go within an hour. for sure coming back to spend few peaceful days

Great small setting on the edge of the water. Lots of birds and water monitors. The farmer brings his buffalo to wallow in the lake twice a day. The beds are big and comfortable. The owner is very friendly with three lovely children. They taught us to play caroom. The food was delicious and plentiful.

Amazing setting near the river where water buffalos and birds can be spotted, helpful, friendly host with playful children who showed us the best spots to hike and swim, fantastic cooking to let us discover delicious local flavours, coconut fresh from the tree, great location for safari. It was destiny that brought us here as our original address cancelled for no specific reason. What a stay! Hope to go back one day during the raining season to experience the difference.

Amazing place to stay when visiting Udawalawe, beautiful location, the staff and owner were incredible. Once booked, they were very prompt in replying to my questions, organising the safari to Udawalawe. We arrived quite late, but straight away the owner met us as we arrived, showed us straight to the room. Cooked and beautiful dinner, on the floating pontoon over looking the lake, the food was great and there was so much of it. The room was very clean, hot shower and good air conditioning. The safari was again, excellent, we were picked up at 6am, they supplied a small snack and water during the safari, then on return we were supplied with an awesome breakfast, no shortage of great food. All in all, highly recommended, everything you need for your time in Udawalawe. The owner will make you stay a great one, that’s for sure.

The pelican lake Guesthouse has a beautiful location right at very clear river and lake where you can have a swim. The hosts there are very friendly and try everything to make you happy. It is very close to the Udawalawe Nationalpark and it was possible to get a very impressing safari arranged by the host.

The hotel is located perfectly at a lake close to the national park. The staff is awesome making the stay a unique experience - caring so much. Food is the best. You can also book a safari. English is very good and it was very enjoyable. 10/10 will do it again. Thanks again for the best experience ❤️

Very nice guest house near the canal and lagoon. Large and well maintained territory with peacocks walking around. Had delicious lunch and dinner, which was prepared by hosts wife. Owner also provides safari ride option for reasonable price, host was also a driver. Very good experience. Totally recommend!
