Great stay with a fantastic family taking care of us. They picked us up all the way from Ella, made us a delicious spread for dinner and took us on a 6 hour safari!

Clean room, comfortable beds, air conditioning, and a spotless bathroom. There’s also a lovely pool where you can relax while black-faced monkeys play in the trees—unwinding there after a safari is truly priceless. They organized our safari in the national park. The husband drove the jeep and was excellent at spotting animals, sharing interesting information, and always positioning the vehicle perfectly for viewing. We chose the 4-hour tour, which felt more than enough given the road conditions and the size of the park, though they also offer 7- and 12-hour options. Two small downsides: the owners were a bit pushy about safari duration and meals, and while the food (we had one lunch and one dinner) was delicious, it was slightly repetitive. The location is perfect for safaris—we even saw an elephant right in front of the hotel in the afternoon—but it’s quite far from the city, with only a few restaurants nearby.

“A lovely stay in the heart of Udawalawe”

The family who own the villa are so kind, helpful & welcoming. They cooked us home- cooked Sri Lanka meals for breakfast, lunch & dinner- it was delicious! The pool area is fabulous. We also booked the safari with our hosts and it was amazing. Definitely recommend staying here if you plan on visiting Udawalawa National Park.

Absolutely exceptional value for money. The hosts are so friendly and cooked us the most delicious dinner. You are very close to Udawalawe national Park and they can arrange a safari for you also. The swimming pool is a lovely added bonus.

Fabulous location - close to the national Park, the best pool that we found on our stay in Sri Lanka and lovely welcoming family and delicious food! The safari and transport organised by the team were exemplary!

Great care from the staff. They drove us to the place from Ella, prepared us the best curry for the dinner, as well as great lunch and breakfast. Managed the Udawalawe safari for us. Perfect pool. Rooms are basic.

Lovely staff and amazing food (both breakfast and dinner). The bathroom floor was very slippery because the sink was leaking so be careful as we slipped a couple of times. Great location if you want to do Udawalawe safari but there's not anything else nearby so keep that in mind.

Amazing location just down from safari park. The family are so very friendly and very welcoming ! They went above and beyond so that I had a comfortable stay! There is a great big new pool that they have built recently- great place to relax and enjoy a swim ! He is a driver and you can get your safari tickets thru them .

We enjoyed a really wonderful short stay here. The hosts were so kind and generous to us. They organised private cars for us from our prior destination, to our ongoing destination and our safari for the morning (which was amazing) all for really cheap prices. He used PickMe as a guide for pricing so we knew it was realistic. It is out of town so getting food from restaurants is difficult unless you organise a tuk tuk. But there is honestly no need to go into town the service and food provided at about 1800pp and it was some of the best food we ate on our trip so it is well worth eating there. Could not recommend this stay enough!

“A great stay, would recommend!”

We really enjoyed our one night stay at Peacock Villa. The family who run the place are lovely and were very helpful in organising us transport to and from the property. They also cooked a delicious dinner and breakfast and took us on a safari in their jeep. It would have been nice to stay another night to enjoy some relaxing time by the pool or on the balcony that overlooks the national park. The beds were comfy and the aircon and hot water worked well. Would highly recommend!

“A warm and friendly place close to the Udawalawe”

The hosts are very friendly. The parents and their children run the place together. The service and food is delicious. The location is also perfect for visiting the Udawalawe National Park. The place is literally across a road from the park. The pool is quite clean and well-maintained.
