The property is fabulous and Tiron was a fantastic host. A beautiful home, well cared for home. A safari was arranged with his nephew driving us and this was a really good experience. Breakfast was amazing.

The staff were so very kind and genuine. They were very helpful and very hospitable. They did everything they could to make it a positive experience and stay, even organising a safari and transfers! I was blessed with a beautiful breakfast but felt so wasteful because it was too much to eat! Even a little welcome drink and snack was so kind and thoughtful!

The property was in a great location to get to safari and nearby activities. The room was very spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom. The beds were very large and comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and the hosts were so lovely and friendly throughout our entire stay. We booked our safari via the host which was super easy and a fantastic experience. Would highly recommend!

“Wonderful family home”

The owners were so lovely and helpful - there was a big storm when we stayed there and they came and reassured us that the power would come back on soon! They also made us breakfast for when we got back from safari, and offered to make us a packed breakfast had we preferred that! They really made us feel like we were being welcomed into their home, which was so nice. You’re a short walk from restaurants on the main high street, too, which is helpful as there’s no dinner option on site.

We had dinner and breakfast at Mansala and both were amazing, the staff was incredible and so kind. The cook was not working due to the Sri Lanka New Year and they still pulled it together to cook us an incredible meal. The chicken for dinner was the best I had in Sri Lanka. They also organized a safari that picked us up from the accommodation and was great.

Very lovely hosts - great breakfast!

Incredible stay. The family that run Mansala are so welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond to provide us with a delicious dinner and breakfast. The room was so spacious, clean and comfortable. The safari Mansala organised for us was brilliant the guide was so knowledgeable, took his time and ended up staying an extra hour so we didn't miss out on all the elephants sightings.

The property is some minutes drive from a safari entrance, which is not a problem, because the owners can arrange transport to pick you up at the accommodation and drive you directly to safari. They can also arrange safari for you. It is a huge mansion, very well maintained by the owner. He and the staff had always smile on their face, making sure we felt pampered there. The rooms are spacious, with a huge bathroom partially outdoors, which was a highlight of our stay (felt so exotic).There was also a patio, where we could sit in the evening. Breakfast was a buffet style, the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka (so tasty). They exceeded our expectations.

We had a brilliant day in Udawalele courtesy of the Mansala team’s hospitality and an enjoyable and informative safari which was seamlessly arranged for us. The food was also great. Overall, really good value for money.

It was in a beautiful setting. It was really nice. The family were super excellent English very good excellent food for dinner and the breakfast were both amazing. The two family boys were happy and contented it was a wonderful stay

Tiron and his wife Ikori were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they looked after us like family. The breakfast were delicious and the dinners amazing. No food on our trip has been as good! The house and setting are beautiful away from the noisy main road down a little secluded lane but close to the small town if you needed anything. As soon as we arrived they arranged an excellent 4 hrs safari with Sheehan who was very informative on the animals we saw, especially the elephants which were numerous and we were up close to them due to his patience. Highly recommend this haven of tranquility.

The property was in the perfect location for the safari. It was stylish, clean with exceptionally welcoming hosts. The meals provided were sone of the best we’d had in Sri Lanka.

The Mansala Safari house is a wonderfull and very good place to stay in Udawalawe! The loving and warm family will take care of all your needs including a delicious home cooked meal and great safari guide! The room is spacious and has a really good shower. Strong and hot water. The also provide a very good lunch box for during the safari. It exceeded my expectations.
