We stayed at Kuma Safari Lodge and it was perfect. The rooms are spotlessly clean and kept cool by excellent air conditioning. The family who run the lodge were warm and kind: they prepared breakfast and dinner with genuine, tasty dishes and organised our safari for the next day, making everything easy. An ideal base for visiting the park, with truly sincere hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

We spent two nights at Kuma Safari lodge and did their morning safari which was brilliant! The rooms themselves were big, clean & had air con. The lady running the accommodation was lovely, and made us delicious breakfast on both mornings, after the safari. Overall I would recommend staying here to do the Udawalawe Safari, as it’s so close to the park entrance, we were actually the first Jeep into the park!

I would give 11/10 if I could. This place is amazing value for money, the hosts are adorable especially the mother taking care of everyone as if you really belong to the family. The owner arranged a transport for us to Ella in a nice car for a very reasonable price. Everything is spotless clean and the bed was comfy. The little village is all smiles, everyone we met on our walks gave such great vibes. One local even helped us with a street dog barking at us because it wanted to protect its puppy. On top of that the Lodge is super close to the entrance of the park so you will be one of the first jeeps to enter if you stay here. It's also possible to book a safari through the accomodation which we didnt do as we booked beforehand already. I highly recommend staying here!

We had a really great stay here. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome from the beginning. Everything was clean and well taken care of, which we really appreciated. The location is perfect, especially being so close to the national park. It truly feels like you are surrounded by nature, which made the whole experience even more special. Communication was smooth and easy the entire time. They even prepared a lunch package for our safari, which was a very thoughtful touch. It was also really convenient that safaris can be arranged directly through them. Totally worth the money

The room is spacious, air conditioned, and very comfortable. We ordered rotti with dhal for dinner, and it was DELICIOUS. The room and breakfast were great value for money.

We book this hotel just for one night but it was really good choice. The owner arranged safari for us. The guide on safari was amazing he had really big knowledge about animals and tried to show us all the wild life in park.There was also a breakfast in national park included. Hotel was also nice localised in quiet village, there was a lot of shops in village so buying snacks was not a problem. Location was also great if you were traveling to Tangalle, there is a bus that is riding from this village (at 12:30 and 13:00 so perfect time after safari) that is going to Embilipitiya Bus Stand (from where you can go to Tangalle)

“Wonderful stay”

I had the most wonderful stay. Everyone was super kind and helpful, welcoming and supportive. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. I loved the shared balcony area amidst the trees. So wonderful. I also did a Safari booked by Kuma and it was marvelous. I did the whole day tour and was just loving every minute of it. Thank you for this wonderful time. Breakfast was also delicious and I had dinner at their restaurant which was a aesthetically very pleasing place with delicious food.

Amazing place. Super close to the park entrance so first in when gates open. Quiet accommodation. Comfy bed with mossie net. Great en-suite. Restaurant onsite with excellent curry and rice, and juices. Owner can organise safari too.

The accommodation was exactly as described and shown in the photos. The room was clean and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and assisted us with organizing the safari. Excellent location, about 5 minutes from the entrance to Udawalawe National Park. We felt very welcome.

“Perfect stay for Udawalawe national park”

Really nice house about a 10 minute or less walk from the entrance of the safari. Room was massive as was the bathroom and host was very sweet too. Arranged a tour with the lodge and managed to be on my own for it and we saw so many cool things like a pack of elephants by a lake rolling around.

The rooms were lovely and spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were also incredibly friendly and accommodating, helping us with everything we needed. The dinner we had at the property was also delicious!

“Wonderful stay near Udawalawe NP with safari arrangement”

I booked this accommodation because of how close it is to Udawalawe national park and it delivered just that - we were first at the gate in the morning :) Owner took care of everything - arranged us a safari with a very knowledgeable driver, who had deep knowledge about all the species living in the park. Since safari was from early morning, we were arranged a wonderful breakfast in the jungle with spectacular views. Also there is a baby elephant transit home like 20mins with tuktuk, and owner arranged transport forth and back to it. Accomodation itself is great, surrounded by nature, and hosts were very nice, welcoming us with fresh mango juice.

The staff is super nice. Breakfast is very good. The Owners son has a nice Restaurant near by! You have to go there.

The location is excellent, just a short distance from Udawalawe National Park. Room was comfy and clean - just what we needed for our short stay. The property offers a safari trip at a very good price, which is highly recommended. Our guide was knowledgeable, passionate, and attentive, spotting many animals including small ones. About 400 meters from Kuma Safari Lodge, Kuma Restaurant serves delicious food with great prices and friendly service. This makes for a convenient and enjoyable stay experience.

The accommodation provider is a family business. They were very kind and attentive. The accommodation provider organized a safari, which was great. They arranged a taxi for us the next day to reach a distant town.

Hosts were so sweet and helpful! I felt very looked after during my time in Udawalawe :)

Great dinner and great host. They organised safari tour for us. Definitelly a must! :)
