Great place to stay near the national park! The location is perfect, very close to the park entrance. The hotel staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The room was very clean and spacious, which made our stay even more comfortable. We definitely recommend this place and would happily stay here again!

“Phenomenal stay”

Everything was great. We had a dinner at owner's place and it was really good. I would advice you, if you come from a long trip to Udawalawe, take this option. We also had our first safari with the owner and we couldn't ask for more. He knew everything, explained us during safari a lot and really took care of us and ensured, we had a great time. We also took his "taxi" service to get to his stay and he drove us to another. What a time at this place!

Room is nice and very good value for money. Staff very friendly. Great safari for 150€ for 2. We ate dinner here, a bit pricey, but such good curries and rice. Great ice cream shop across the road. Bus stop very close.

Exceptional in every way. The room is at least one level up from what you usually get in this price range, food is delicious, and the whole place is beautiful. However, what truly sets it apart is the hospitality of the owners and the quality of the safari guiding. They're really going the extra mile to provide the best possible service, including explanation of all the animals in the park, which you don't get with many safari providers. People of the world, book this place, you're not going to regret it, and do book the safari with them, it's worth it.

“Extra service charges / dishonest owner”

The room is ok, even though there are many bugs around (especially mosquitoes). I booked a safari with them too, and it was decent - but the driver started the day off by saying that tips are appreciated.

The host was amazing, I did the Safari with him, which includes breakfast, and I told him the day before that I can't eat gluten (I have celiac disease). He arranged an amazing glutenfree breakfast for both mornings I was there, I can highly recommend staying here.

I was very impressed with the tour and room. The 9.5 on booking.com is well deserved. I would give it a 10.

Very clean, massive room and comfortable bed. Great AC and good bathroom. The safari was an incredible experience. Haritha took us on the safari and was so knowledgable. He’d even hurt his foot but put all his efforts into making sure we had a great experience. So reasonably priced. He was very kind and organised everything for us. Breakfast was lovely and arranged within the safari park near elephants.

Our host and family where so amazing, kind , patient, attentive. Haritga took us on a safari, which was great. We saw many elephants, jackal, mongoose, crocs as well as many birds

They provide safari tours much cheaper than others but also very conveniently as you just wake up, jump on the jeep and go. Hiritha, the owner, is very friendly, speaks good english and really likes his job. He knows the park and the animals very well and will answer any questions you ask. We noticed the attitude of other drivers in the park and couldnt be any happier that we were with him. We did 6h tour and saw many elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, peacocks,... Breakfast is very good and they also offer cooking clases and homemade food on site. Alternativelly you can go to any of the many local restaurants in town. Rooms are big, clean and shower has hot water. Also the place is very quiet and we had a very good sleep. We cant recommend it enough.

The property is just amazing. The room was very clean, with a spacious bathroom, for a cheap price. Even though we came to the accommodation very late, the host organized a private safari for us with no problem. We took a 6 hour one, he made us breakfast and set it up in the national park, it was totaly worth it. After the safari he offered us a really affordable taxi ride to Ella. We really recommend staying there!

“A wonderful stay in a beautiful natural setting”

A wonderful place to stay! Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a small outdoor area overlooking the garden. We were welcomed with a delicious fresh fruit juice, and from the very beginning Haritha, the owner, was extremely kind, relaxed, and always ready to help. We chose to have dinner there both evenings — two outstanding rice and curry meals made by his mother, among the best we had in Sri Lanka. The food was so good that we joined a cooking class with Haritha and his mother on our last day, which was a fantastic experience and ended with a delicious lunch. Haritha also organises safaris in the Udawalawe National Park, and he shared many interesting insights about the animals and the park. He also kindly drove us to Ella himself, in a comfortable and relaxed ride. He and his lovely family truly made us feel at home. We wholeheartedly recommend both the stay and the experiences you can have here.

Resort location is amazing, surrounding area was fully naturally. Comfortable bedroom and amenities. Owner Haritha Madnayke was very helpful and knowledgeable about the safari tour. We booked half day safari tour which was very amazing owner Haritha brief us about the nature and animal. Food was very delicious and reasonable.

“Excellent stay and delicious, healthy food”

Wonderful place, they also arrange a jungle safari, it was an excellent arrangement by Mr Haritha and his family. They were like a family members, the place was beautiful with lots of trees and squirrels around and the seating arrangements for the breakfast n dinner. Showed high professionalism in arrangement of food as well as safari. Definitely would recommend to all who love nature. The food was awesome and loved the jungle safari

“Comfy beds, kettle for tea, a/c and very accommodating staff, good meal & incredible safari service!”

Outstanding service, good food menu, tasty free breakfasts. Owner conducted the most amazing safari, keeping us clear of other jeeps and we saw all the wildlife, except a leopard! He also drove us to Ella. Prices were very good. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean and staff was accommodating.

We had a wonderful stay at Safari. Everything was perfectly clean, and the hospitality was truly exceptional. The host went above and beyond to make our stay special — he arranged an unforgettable safari experience for us and prepared absolutely delicious food. We highly recommend booking a cooking class with the host’s mother — her cooking is phenomenal and it was one of the highlights of our stay. The atmosphere felt warm, authentic, and very welcoming. We would definitely stay here again and can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Everything was spot on, clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpfull, we arrive with our safari already booked and we regretted not doing it with him. Amazing breakfast

“Amazing staff, great food and the best value for money!”

The rooms were amazing, very spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The staff was amazing! They brought me to and from Adam’s Peak for a very very reasonable price and were so kind about the trip even though it took very long. The breakfast after the safari was delicious. I highly recommend it if you’re staying in Udawalawe!
