“Wonderful food and very tranquil setting.”

We loved the outdoor bathroom and tranquil setting. The food served was some of the best we have had in Sri Lanka. The safari and visit to the elephant transit centre organised by them, was excellent.

The host and the staff were very very friendly, authentic and approachable. They made sure that our stay to be cozy and easy. The outdoor bathtub was definitely a highlight of the stay - a cozy bath underneath the sun, trees and monkeys. Breakfast was nice and the host also helped us arranging a safari tour with fair price and a very genuine driver with good eyes to spot the animals.

This property was truly unique and special. The beautiful outdoor bathroom was an incredible experience, allowing us to feel immersed in nature. The room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Dasun organised an amazing safari with other guests, which was outstanding. His wife and mum prepared a beautiful dinner, and the whole experience felt incredibly homely and comfortable. They maintain the property beautifully, with immaculate gardens that add so much to the experience. At night, the garden lights create a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a beverage on the front porch.

“Hidden paradise”

This place is amazing! Big room and no mosquitos at all inside, I didn't even turned on the A/C or fan. There's a relaxing sofa in front of the cottage entrance. The garden and nature surrounding is really nice but the best part is definitely the outdoor shower! Breakfast is tasty and varied, I also had a really good and big kotthu for dinner. The owner is really kind, he brought me to the Elephant Transit home, organised the shared safari for me and also a shared taxi. Thank you🙏🏻

I had a wonderful stay at Hasthi Safari Cottage and can’t recommend it highly enough! The accommodation is clean, spacious, and thoughtfully maintained, surrounded by a beautiful garden that gives the place a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The service quality is exceptional — everything is perfectly organized and the staff make sure you have everything you need. The owner is truly outstanding — very kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything, from arranging safaris to local transport or special requests. His hospitality made me feel genuinely welcome, more like visiting friends than staying at a guesthouse. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay with excellent service and a personal touch amid beautiful nature, Hasthi Safari Cottage is the perfect choice! Breakfast was super also cooking class. We loved the secluded feel of the place while also being surrounded by nature. The homemade food was incredible as was the the outside shower!

“Amazing hospitality, lovely host & family and quaint location”

Hosts were absolutely amazing, helped us with everything we could have needed. Food was out of this world and so reasonable - we were a group of 6 and Dasun was so careful to make sure we had everything we needed and gave a variety of cars for my friends to travel on. In addition to this, safari organised through the cottage, it was actually Dasun friend who was an AMAZING driver & guide and took us to loads of secret spots that others didn’t know about - if you are wondering whether to book this DO IT. Also it was certainly the best Sri Lankan food of our whole trip so far

“The best stay ever”

Absolutely perfect. I’m a picky person and this place it’s just amazing. The owner is the nicest man, always ready to please you, I’m vegan with a lot of intolerances and he prepared a lot of food for breakfast for me and even after a lot of food was worried that was not enough. He also arrange the safari and I suggest to do everything through him cause is really honest. The bathroom is just amazing!!! Super suggested

“Beautiful cottage amidst nature !”

The property is beautiful and the cottage with private external bathroom was very nice . It had a nice vibe to it and a new experience for us . We asked Dasun to prepare dinner for us and it was the best meal we had in Sri Lanka .Del curry was a highlight of our trip along with the soyabean curry served with rice. The complimentary breakfast was good as well. Dasun also helped us with some payments when we were short of cash and we paid to him later with card .Our stay was pleasant overall, highly recommended

The host prepared our dinner when we arrived late, breakfast in the morning, organized a great safari tour and was at all times very committed to providing us a great experience. Very recommendable!
