My stay with Hashan was incredible. He turned out not only to be a first class host, but I also ended up going on the safari with him and it was an absolute highlight of my trip. He went above and beyond to make the safari an unforgettable experience. His knowledge went very far and he loved sharing all he knew with every different animal we came across. What really stood out to me was how respectful he was towards the animals, giving them space and leaving it up to them if they wished to approach us. We noticed other tour guides chasing elephants or barricading their way while they were trying to get to the water on the other side. So for those looking for an ethical safari guide: Hashan is your man. He's also funny and entertaining, and he organised a delicious picnic at a beautiful view, which was a nice extra. Highly recommended!

Firstly I would like to thank Hashan and his wife for being warm kind, and fantastic hosts. Good clean comfortable rooms with hot shower, and great breakfast provided Good location. Hashan took us to see the flying fox at dusk, and arranged for his safari the following morning. Would highly recommend his safari, for which he is so passionate and knowledgeable…you are guaranteed to have a great time, and see the elephants. Hashan, you are a great character..keep doing what you do! Would absolutely recommend, and would come back again.

“Great value, comfortable room, amazing safari service!”

Perfect location for a safari of Uda walawe and Hashan's safari is exceptional. He has been a guide for 14 years and seems to really know the park and be able to anticipate how the animals will behave and where they will be. I was here in mid-Feb and saw elephants all over including babies and a group having a swim, crocodiles, deer, monkeys and many birds including hawks, peacocks, kingfishers and more! He speaks excellent English and answered all my questions, also arranging for a tuktuk ride to see the 'Flying Fox' bats at dusk. His wife prepared a lovely spread of snacks for the day and a great breakfast the day I left. The room was very comfortable, has AC, a hot shower and mosquito net. I was a female solo traveller and felt very safe at all times.

“Best wildlife tour host”

The owner, Hashan, is the best. He offered us a fantastic and unforgettable journey through the National Park. He was very respectful of the animals and took us to less frequented areas of the park - so that we could enjoy calmer time in nature. I do believe he offers a very special tour - I would always go with him again! The accomodation is simple, yes, but you are there also only for the night and that works perfectly for the pricing. We had a good night sleep.

I went there with my 5 year old son to experience a once in a lifetime memorable Safari Trip with Harshan and we where lucky enough to experience just that :)! Harshan is very respectful, takes time for observing without pressure (for humans and animals) and has a lot of knowledge. In the end we came back in the afternoon after we waited paitiently for the elefant group to arrive at the lake. Harshan was also really nice with my son, who got little toys from him at the lodge. We had an amazing stay at Chill House Safari Resort and can honestly say it was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The owner Hashan is an incredible host and truly the heart of this place. He was without a doubt the highlight of our stay. Through him, we booked a safari, and it turned out to be the most beautiful day of our whole vacation. Hashan has an impressive knowledge about wildlife and nature, explains everything with great passion, and speaks excellent English, which made the experience even more special. The safari was perfectly organized, very authentic, and far beyond our expectations. You can really feel how much Hashan loves what he does and how much he cares about his guests. The accommodation itself was clean, cozy, and peaceful – the perfect place to relax after an exciting day. We felt welcome from the very first minute and would absolutely come back again. We did the safari with Hashan today and it's so far the highlight of our two-week trip! Hashan is super knowledgeable, passionate, and actually cares about the wildlife in the park (which cannot be said for everyone). He answered all our questions, made us feel comfortable, safe, and made sure to avoid the crowds and keep a respectful distance (and engine off) while near the animals. The half day tour took actually almost 7hrs, we got all the food/drinks needed, stopping for a picnic at a super scenic location. Actually we saw many jeeps doing the "standard" (rushed) tour, being crammed together while we always somehow took the "side paths" ending up alone in quiet locations next to amazing wildlife. Worth every penny! Hashan, thanks again, and next time it's an overnight camping as discussed! ;)

Dashan's place came recommended by fellow tuktuk drivers. And rightly so! He arranged a spectacular full day safari and we couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. Definitely recommended if you're looking to visit Udawalawe!

Hashan was the best host and the half day safari will be something we remember for the rest of our lives

The room wasn't up to our standards, but the hosts are really friendly. Hashan is an amazing tour guide, and I would 100% recommend taking the safari trip with him. He really takes his time, tells you everything you want to know about the animals, and makes sure you have the best possible day. He made us feel like we were the only ones in the park. The breakfast was good too!

We were lucky to find this great accommodation. The owner is the best safari guide we could have asked for. We saw so many beautiful animals and he really knew a lot about them. His wife is masterchef and she made the best rice & curry we had in Sri Lanka with so many delicious options. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and had everything you need.

“Exactly what it says - the perfect chill house to stay in when visiting Udawalawe”

The property was the perfect place to stay when visiting Udawalawe National Park. Everything was easily organised by Hashan and he was super accommodating and a friendly person. Hashan provided recommendations for other things to do in the area and drove us in his tuk tuk to the shops and ATM when needed. The room was huge with a great bathroom and balcony. Breakfast was more than enough and full of fresh Sri Lankan ingredients.

We were very lucky to stay at Hashan's and his family's hotel. A cozy hotel, a very hospitable family. His wife cooked a very delicious dinner, even baked a super birthday cake! We also had a few days Kandy/Ella/Sigiriya tour and safary with Hashan and it was really a great and unfogettable experience. He knows a lot about his country, has a perfect sense of humour, also he is a very helpful and kind person. Highly recommend the hotel to stay, also Hashan as a perfect guide!

Our family was lucky to book safari with Chill House Safari Resort owner Hashan, that was the best experience we could expect! He knew exactly where to find different species and made sure we got incredible sightings. Every question we had about the animals, he answered with enthusiasm and expertise. Beyond his skills, he was incredibly attentive and caring, always making sure we were comfortable and having a great time. “Best safari guide”

Great value for money. We are a fanily of 5 with 3 children and we hat a perfect stay the hotel met all our needs. Hashan has to be the best safari tour guide in the area. The park can be crowded, but he managed to get us out of the traffic jams and most of the time we were alone in the park. We were supposed to be finnished at 1330 but he wanted to give us a Even better experience, so he continued until 17.

Apartment located in beautiful surrounding. Hashan helped us to arrange taxi driver, massage. He also was our guide and driver on Safari. Comfortable place to stay, everything as in description. Extremely helpful and kind owners. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Really easy and quick communication with the owner. We really recommend to stay at this house and also take trip to safari :)

we stayed at the Chill House for two nights to do the safari and we can highly recommend it. not only that the rooms are really nice and clean, but also Hashan is a really nice guy and welcomed us in the best way he could. he helped us where ever he could. We did also the safari with him and that also was the best experience we could get. you can really tell that he is doing his safaris with passion.
