The family which run this business is so nice and gentle. The accomentation was a little bit hidden but still at a really good place if you want to stay there for one night after or before safari. The room was really big and comfy with an AC. You can reach restaurants there by foot, or you can eat there as well. The breakfast was so nice - thank you for the nice stay

Peaceful, large, immaculately clean room, with great aircon and fan, and friendly staff (although minimal English). We had a big Sri Lankan breakfast (but no milk for tea).

The host family is super friendly and welcoming ! When we arrived they even offered us free juice water and everything. They told us we can eat curry at their house in the evening and it was delicious. The room + bathroom is beautiful and definitely meets western standards. We couldn't ask for more ❤️ The room is modern, has ac amd power outlets that work for European electronics. We went for Safari the next day and when we came back they even gave us breakfast. All in all it was fantastic and we definitely recommend sleeping here !

“Ideal choice for overnight stay for safari”

A great place to stay before or after a safari. The hosts are very kind and helpful and even arranged a jeep for me at a much better price than other options. The place is clean, peaceful, and comfortable for an overnight stay. Breakfast was excellent.

Without the doubt this was our BEST ACCOMODATION in all two weeks of traveling Sri Lanka. Apartment had everything needed with huge balcony and nice chill area. Hosts were super friendly and nice. They really cared for our great experience. They arranged us safari trip for super price with such a kind and nice driver with jeep. Price for the safari was really super fair, and we recommend to book it with them, because you will not get that price if you try to book it alone. Location is also just walking diatace from elephant transit center when you can go and watch the feeding. Breakfast was also superb, and our hosts were even so nice to show us and explain about their coconut factory. They helped us with local bus to our next destination and allowed us to stay longer in our room. Just the words of praise for this FANTASTIC place and family <3

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location is great. The host family was very friendly and also kindly prepared our breakfast very early in the morning as we had an early start to our safari.

“Incredible. Just book it”

Baby Elephant Green House just oozes charm. The rooms are spotless and extremely well appointed with a lovely balcony to relax on. Dinner cooked by the family was absolutely superb and breakfast was exceptional. It’s extremely well located for the national park and the owners organised a safari tour that was very well priced and extremely memorable. We lost count of the number of elephants we saw close up.

The host was really friendly, the room was clean, great mattress and a lovely deck to sit in the evening. Only q couple of hundred meters from the elephant transit house.

“Best place to stay in Udawalawe.”

If you want to visit Udawalawe Safari and the Elephant orphanage this is the place to stay 100%. The family are so caring and attentive to all your needs. The food was the best we had in Sri Lanka for a very cheap price. Breakfast was included which was lovely also. They arranged the Safari which was 14,000 rupees for renting a 6 seater jeep and we're in a couple. You have to pay the standard entry fee once you arrive. The family even made us a delicious packed lunch. The room was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed for a short stay. The host also gave us the best route to Ella via bus and it worked perfectly.

“Everything”

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Lovely people, very welcoming. Organised safari and taxi to Galle. The breakfast was delicious as well as the evening meals we requested. The owners also make coconut oil in a small building next door which was fascinating to look round. They also grow black pepper which we bought to take home. This is more than just a place to sleep, it’s great to meet Sri Lankan families, be welcomed into their home and understand their lifestyle.

The whole facility was great from the room to the bathroom, the owners were very nice and polite, overall everything was good, except maybe the wifi and the ants walking around the bathroom, this was the least of the problems

I had the opportunity to stay at a small, family-run hotel that I definitely recommend. From the moment you arrive, you can feel that this is a place where hospitality and authenticity come first—you are welcomed as a guest, not just a tourist for one night. The rooms are exceptionally clean, air-conditioned, and spacious, ensuring a high level of comfort during your stay. The food served on-site is truly delicious, and the overall organization is carried out in a very friendly atmosphere. At our request, the owners purchased spices at a local market, and some even came from their own garden. We also received a recipe for a curry mix, which was a delightful touch that allowed us to experience the local flavor and vibe. Additionally, the owner gave us a tour of his coconut oil factory—a fantastic experience where we had the opportunity to taste fresh coconut. The entire stay was very enjoyable. Although, as is common with any quickly organized trip, there were minor issues and ambiguities, our difficulties were resolved swiftly, allowing us to remain calm and satisfied with our stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking genuine hospitality, comfort, and authentic experiences.

The room was clean with AC, location was fantastic, but what was most exceptional was the service - the loveliest of couples who organised our Safari, made us delicious breakfast and dinner, and had fantastic recommendations. “Fantastic place to stay”

The host met us with cold fresh fruit juice & could not do more to make our stay enjoyable, great location only metres from the main st & bus/tuktuk exchange, also a short distance from the elephant transit house, arranged a reasonably priced safari with an excellent driver (Chinthaka Athula) who found us so many elephants we lost count (as well as other wild life), also arranged a driver to take us on to Ella, highly recommended
