Loads of character. Staying in this 13 century mansion was a unique treat, like living in a museum. Our grandchildren loved it.

The property was amazing, a real palace. It was like taking a step back in time but with modern facilities. Truly spectacular. The pool was also well received on a very hot day. Located in the heart of the old town so easy to walk around. All bedrooms with ensuites and air-conditioning.

Overall we had a fantastic stay at Palacete Sol de Mayo. The accommodation is unique and provides an amazing experience. The interior is old (this is its charm) and so guests need to be realistic about their expectations. José was very helpful and generous with any requests we had and the location within the town was quiet and yet close to restaurants and shops. Although private parking is available in a nearby location we found it easier to park in the Mirador carpark several minutes walk away.

Fantastic and charming property built in 1298. It was like walking back in history and feel like a lord of the palace. The owner met us and he was very helpful and speaking excellent English. The location is perfect, but when you have entered the palace, you don’t want to go out again. We were two couples and will definitely be back together with more friends. There is 4 wonderful bedrooms, so it is perfect for 4 couples.

The Paleceto was like staying in a living museum. Fascinating, beautiful, an experience unto itself.

“Comfortable step back in history”

The Palacete was an exceptional place to stay. If you like history and individual charm (but with good air-conditioning!), this was a dream. It was a privilege to stay in a house built over 700 years ago with many original features. The location was superb, tucked in a little street behind the main square in the historic centre so restaurants (and there are so many good restaurants in Ubeda) and bars are within easy walking distance but the house itself was quiet. The host is charming and attentive, living a few minutes from the property (he leapt into action when I managed to drop my rental car keys into a recycling bin and got the local council to retrieve them!). Parking was easy, either in the square or a public car park a five minute walk away.
