“Lovely stay close to the rock engravings”
The lodge is right around the corner of the Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings, the organ pipes and burnt mountain. We also did a sundowner elephant tracking drive which was fantastic! Breakfast and dinner is a buffet option, with a fantastic view. Food was very good. The bar right next to it is also fantastic. It was the first pool which wasn’t freezing cold, but they could add a few more sun loungers.

“Book and enjoy!”
Everything good, but being able to be at the right time at the best spot to see and photograph the desert elephants thanks to guide Alex was really outstanding, creating a lasting memory.

“Great views but poor value for money”
Stunning views from the property. We’d asked for a a quiet room, maybe this was a mistake as we got a room tucked round the back with views of steep rocks behind our room. The hotel wasn’t full so we asked to be moved to a room with a view, we were paying full price where the tour groups who come in late and leave early the next morning were probably getting a discounted rate so I thought it was a bit off to give us a bad room. So we got the view which is lovely. the included dinner was good, the bar area is nice, again with great views. Getting to the property takes persistence, it’s in the middle of nowhere with very bad roads (and we had a shredded tyre on the way) - they must be used to it as they have an on-site garage to do tyre replacements, thank goodness, and the staff were very helpful with that.

Twyfelfontein Country Lodge is in a beautiful spot and ideally located for exploring the Twyfelfontein World Heritage Site and other points of interest in Damaraland like the Damara Living Museum. Friendly staff, good food and cosy cabins.
