We loved staying at the ranch, although the road that leads up there can be tricky (still totally doable with a 4x4), it was definitely worthy, even just for the view and the peace. The lodge was comfortable and cozy and we really appreciated the dinner delivery service. Breakfast was really nice too and we enjoyed the little hike around the property.

“Amazing stay! We recommend the sunrise cabin!”

Amazing stay at the lodge. We were at the sunrise lodge and this one was more isolated from the main house which we loved. We saw so many birds in the morning and our stay was magical. The highlight of our Costa Rica trip. Also we hosts are super friendly and available if you have any questions.

Amazing location challenging drive to reach it but so worth it , you need a 4x4 but don’t be put off by this as it’s Natures paradise when you arrive. Host made arrangements for us to have our dinner from local restaurant delivered to us which was lovely. We will stay again

The ranch was so nice. Amazing views across the valley to the nearby volcano. It's remote and the road is a little bumpy to get up (you need 4X4) so best to bring food in with you. Breakfast was really good in a beautiful room with a great view.

The bungalows were comfortable, private and with great views of Turrialba volcano. They are set in a sizeable plot and there are paths within it to explore the forest. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfasts were delightful with a great selection of fresh fruit, nuts, granola, toast and eggs served in a beautiful dining cabin.

Superb peaceful location in the hills overlooking a smoking volcano. Not just that but the most wonderful breakfast including fresh eggs from the pet chickens. Birding guide Steven was amazing, pointing out so many spots that we would never have seen without him!!

Incredible location. A really cool place to stay and recharge in the area of Turrialba.. Views of the Turrialba Volcano are unforgettable. Very safe location. I wish I could have brought some food to enjoy the view while cooking and drikning.

We saw a lot of toucans and other birds and a coyote (although we heard them in the night too). We loved the grounds and the family feel. Breakfast was superb with free range eggs and milk from their cows. I recommend you walk the trail if you’re able, it’s a bit hard going on the lungs if you’re not gym fit, but manageable. Lovely vistas and you might see a sloth. Good hot showers, good kitchen and utensil. Definately get Daniel & Raquel to pick you up from the bottom if you haven’t got a hardy 4x4, they’re a lovely couple who help out. Thank you

“A place in the sky”

The views are absolutely stunning. This is a place literally up in the clouds! Mia, Ranzel, and the whole staff could not have been more welcoming. It’s a very VERY chill stay though, so plan accordingly if you have little kids. I also can’t stress enough the need for a 4x4 to get there; our rental company “upgraded” us from X-Trail to Audi Q3 (ugh), and we weren’t able to make it all the way up. Thankfully the staff came down and picked us up!

“Your own charming cottage above the clouds!”

Imagine driving up and up a mountain to arrive at your own cottage with outstanding views of the clouds, town and distant mountain range (and volcano). The accommodation is outstanding with a wonderful Tica vibe (we stayed in the Toucan Cottage). The bed and shower are really good, with a small efficiency kitchen for those interested in a longer stay. The breakfast was served in a common area, it too was lovely, tropical and delicious.

Such a great experience ! We spent a night on these hills in a very cosy lovely chalet. Steven brought us through the night on a bumpy adventorous natural street up to the lodge. View and landscape are amaizing. Mia and Ranzel are lovely and very helpful patrons. We had a flat tire; their staff fixed it within minutes! Delicious breakfast with view, all done with care and love. Thank you so much!

“Peaceful mountain cabins with modern comforts.”

The views are amazing. The cabin was clean and comfortable and well maintained. The place is very peaceful and the mountain air is refreshing. Nice staff and hosts. Would definitely stay again.

“Wow!”

We loved the calm and remote location, the beautiful and well-maintained property, the stunning view and the trails. This was our second-last and best accommondation. The „street“ getting there is quite an adventure, but well-manageable with a 4x4.

“Fantastic views in remote location.”

Amazing location, high above Turrialba. We stayed in the far sunset cabin (5 min walk from main area) and my parents stayed in the Toucan cabin. The Sunset cabin was much quieter and had a view across an unpopulated valley - we saw loads of birds. The Toucan cabin overlooks the Turrialba valley and the volcano. We preferred the sunset cabin as it had a more spacious balcony that the four of us could sit on. The water pressure was much better in this cabin. Breakfast was amazing - really good. If you want dinner you'll need to order it from a local family - this was also good. A great place to chill out and watch the birds. Expect peace and solitude and come to switch off.
