“Best breakfast spot right at the beach and free yoga lessons”

Having breakfast right at the beach sets the mood for a wonderful and relaxed beach day! The fact that the hotel is based in a national park ensures a quite unique atmosphere! We loved it!

We spent 10 nights at Pocna Hotel and overall had a fantastic stay in what is truly a unique and beautiful setting. Nestled within a national park, right in the jungle, the atmosphere is something special—wildlife is part of your daily experience, with animals regularly passing through the grounds. For us, that was one of the absolute highlights. The hotel itself is extremely well kept, and the staff are consistently friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, spacious, and functional, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One small thing to note: the shower takes a good 5 minutes to heat up, so patience is required! Food and drinks were a strong point. The Mexican restaurant served consistently good meals, and the Japanese restaurant in the evening was also a great option. The cocktails are particularly well done—especially the piña colada, which became a personal favourite. That said, we’d recommend sticking to local-style drinks, as the European-style cocktails weren’t quite as impressive. Breakfast was enjoyable, but after a longer stay, the limited variety does become noticeable. A more extensive continental buffet would really elevate the experience for guests staying beyond a few days. The beach is stunning, and the facilities are excellent. There was quite a bit of sargassum during our stay—which is largely unavoidable in the area—but it wasn’t always clear that it was being cleared regularly. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat. The Tulum ruins are within walking distance, and it’s just a short taxi ride into the town centre and hotel zone (we recommend downloading the inDrive app—it’s very useful). There are also other nearby beachfront hotels within walking distance that offer great dining options, including Thai and Mexican cuisine. One practical tip: make sure you understand the system of the three bracelets you’re required to wear during your stay—it can be a bit confusing at first. Overall, Pocna Hotel is a beautiful place.

Fabulous location on the beach. Rooms were spotlessly clean and fresh. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast with one selection off the menu included plus coffee juice and a complimentary option of the day like pancakes. Staff were friendly and attentive.

“A great stay in a hotel with a difference, lots of rustic charm and tranquility.”

The hotel was right on the beach but in the middle of a National Park which ic what drew us to this in the first place as it was a great location. The Hotel had a rustic vibe to it, which gave it it's charm. Even though it was rustic it had everything you required in the room, expect it could do with a mirror in better lighting conditions, if I had know this was needed I would have brought my own. Also there is no TV which was NOT needed, but there was a blue tooth speaker and a Nespresso coffee machine. There was also drinking water provided daily in the room. It was very easy to walk to Tulum ruins from the hotel, or you could get a public tram, but you would have to purchase a ticket first from the park entrance. Taxis were also easy to come by but for a good price you would need to download the InDrive App, but these could take you into town. There were a few restaurants within walking distance, so there was no need to travel far for a good meal.

I loved that its “jungle” vibes, the rooms were lovely and loved the glass windows and when you opened them it was amazing! Gustavo from the beach bar service was very lovely and a big shout out to Gustavo! Also Jose from the reception- very kind!
