I cannot praise the staff enough at this hotel. They anticipated our every need including sorting out shady sunbeds and delivering drinking water to the beach. Arturo gave us a wonderful welcome and was engaging throughout. The rest of the staff were equally good. The food was delicious and the rooms comfortable. Thoroughly recommended.

Very cozy, small hotel on the coast of the Caribbean Sea with a private beach. The staff is amazing—so friendly and helpful, always trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food is very tasty, and enjoying it with a sea view makes the experience even better. Activities like learning salsa or bachata, or listening to guitar music during dinner, were absolutely unforgettable.

Quite hotel for perfect relaxation - far from crowds and noise. High quality food in the restaurant. Kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel equipment is free of charge. The personal including room service was outstanding - very polite and helpfull.

The location of the hotel is A+++, as long as you like privacy, safety, tranquility. Too far from Tulum to walk, but we didn’t mind. This place is magic! Super friendly staff, always helpful. It’s not a 5 star luxury resort but it makes up with so much more. Almost private beach with picturesque pier with hammocks, amazing! We stayed for 11 nights and we could have stayed longer. Restaurant is very good, pricing is correct, terrace looking out on the beach, some nights live music.

An absolutely stunning, paradise-like location and a perfect final stop for our honeymoon. The rooms are well sized, modern, and very comfortable, with one of the best showers we had in the entire Yucatán — reliable hot water every time, which is surprisingly rare. The staff is truly exceptional: Arturo and the whole team were warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating, allowing us an early check-in and late check-out so we could fully enjoy our last day before the flight. The restaurant is excellent, the atmosphere very relaxed, and the overall vibe is calm and unpretentious. Free use of snorkeling gear, kayaks, SUPs, and bodyboards made the stay even better. Snorkeling straight from the pier was unforgettable — we saw countless fish, birds, manta rays, moray eels, and even a small turtle.

Casa Altamar is the most magical place to stay. It is in a beautiful location. Rooms are modern and large. The restaurant is fabulous.Great food and cocktails. Everyone is so helpful and we will definitely be back

“I wish every hotel was like Casa Altamar”

The hotel is extremely chilled out and we relaxed the moment we arrived . The stand out part of our holiday was the personal touch and service given by Arturo Armine and the whole team! By far the best I've had anywhere in the world. The location is perfect, despite it being high season there was not many other hotels or people on this beautiful lush tropical beach. If you are planning to go into Tulum a lot or explorer the area car hire is a good idea. The daily rate is the same as the return taxi fare into Tulum. Arturo gave as very good advice for whatever we needed and organised an excellent trip to Chichen Itza and also arranged a good car hire for us. The food was excellent particularly the burger and ceviche. This was my ideal kind of hotel in every way.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Altamar and were very satisfied with everything. We received a very warm welcome at the restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach, where everything was explained to us and we received our room keys. Arturo personally showed us to our room and gave us detailed information. The entire staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. We were spoiled with delicious food and drinks, including a fresh coconut straight from the tree. The churros were exceptionally good! Our room was spacious, very clean, and had a lovely sea view. Housekeeping was also very friendly and supportive. Additionally, the hotel offers free use of stand-up paddleboards and small boats, which was a great extra. All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We would definitely recommend Casa Altamar and would love to come back.

“The most perfect stay for a quieter side of Tulum”

We loved every minute of our stay at Casa Altamar. The staff were so friendly, attentive, and relaxed. They did everything to make our stay a perfect one. The food at the restaurant is excellent - a great selection and very reasonably priced. We visited other restaurants nearby and in Tulum but none were as good. Beautifully designed and maintained, beachfront property. With a clean pool, balconies, and private beach. Watching the sunrise every morning and seeing the pelicans dive for fish will be a lasting image. Thank you for a wonderful, memorable stay.
