“Your next dream stay 😍”
My favourite place in the world. Salt lick resort .. incredible stay. Charming hotel in the middle of the savannah , here you will have an experience like no other. The stilt houses are exceptional, the rooms are inside those and the views are absolutely spectacular. You can see any type of animals going around the lodge and literally come and drink water by the hotel right in front of you. Honestly this is an experience on it’s on. Large room, well equipped but not A/C just fans. The view from our room facing the small lake , was breathtaking… zebras , elephants and many more were right in front of us and you could just admire them . We stayed 2 nights, and we did not want to leave. I took my family of 22 there and they were so amazed and happy to be there , that everything was just feeling great. Breakfast was great and same for lunch and dinner , asp very pretty restaurant. The terrace at the top was incredible overlooking the entire lodge , lake and animals. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs or any special requests. Also met the managers of the hotel and they were extremely professional. The front of house staff very kind and helpful, but big shoutout to Victor to solve all our issues and maintain extreme professionalism while dealing with client . Game drives also very good and beautiful. The rangers drivers were super friendly and make sure we would not miss out . We saw so many animals like was like leaving in a dream. Can’t wait to be back and thank you for all you have done for us . Keep it up the good work

Trip started badly when our transfer from the train station didn’t arrive. We took our chances with a guy in an unmarked Toyota Yaris who probably had no insurance but he was a lovely guy and got us to the lodge. Interesting property with OK rooms that are a bit tired. Staff are amazing and very friendly. We didn’t like the busy buffet setup with people barging to get to the food which was pretty average. Also felt the environment was very man-made with water troughs surrounding the viewing gallery so the elephants came right up to the building. It was very learned behaviour not natural at all. It felt a bit like a safari park rather than a view into their natural habitat.

Amazing location, so close to the animals (this is live entertainment and an experience not to forget). Great game drives. Nice that they make fresh eggs, salads & pasta on the spot. Possibility to relax/swim/eat/... add their sister hotel.

“The BEST place to watch African wildlife with the most incredible staff and food!”
The Salt Lick Lodge is absolutely superb! Indeed, this is probably the best place my wife and I have ever stayed in. Right from the initial transfer from Voi SGR station to the lodge, with the extremely friendly driver, we knew that something special was on the cards. How right we were! Salt Lick Lodge is the BEST place to view wildlife anywhere..end of. Our room overlooked the waterhole and every day we were greeted with a never ending stream of animals visiting to drink - elephants (herds of 30+), buffalo, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, eland, red hartebeest...and that's just the big stuff. We saw 4 species of mongoose, including banded and a family of dwarf (with albino individuals) that visited daily, The bird life was exceptional, and we had cracking views of superb starling, white crowned shrike, red billed and von der decken's hornbill, soaring bateleur, tawny and brown snake eagle, ostrich, wooly necked stork, ground hornbill, lilac breasted roller, namaqua dove, slender tailed nightjar, amethyst sunbird, white headed buffalo weaver..etc.!! Lions were always on the periphery and we heard males calling each night. On a night drive we came across a male and female sleeping on the road! The safaris were exceptional and we saw black backed jackal, cape hare, lesser kudu, impala, oryx, wildebeest, chameleons and even a green mamba! The rooms were exceptionally comfortable and the view over the waterhole was out of this world! The fan above the extremely comfortable bed was perfect and we really appreciated the mosquito net 'curtain' that one could simply draw around the bed. Tremendous shower with hot water! And now onto the food, WOW!! My wife and I are vegetarians and have travelled around many African countries for 30 years. The Salt Lick Lodge had the BEST vegetarian selection of anywhere we have eaten and so delicious. Watching your eggs cooked just the way you like, right in front of your eyes, what's not to like! But the overall best thing?

Everything about Salt Lick is absolutely amazing! This is truly a magical experience and I highly recommend everyone who is going to Kenya to spend at least two nights in this magical place! The lodges, the staff, the food, facilities and the wildlife is all 10/10! I cannot wait to go back! 👏🏽🇰🇪
