Built in 1570, the charming Palacio Chaves Calderón features elegant interiors, with antique furniture and vaulted ceilings. The seasonal outdoor pool and sun terrace are set within the palace’s gardens. The spacious rooms at Palacio Chaves Hotel enjoy views over Trujillo. Good location, beautiful building, clean. Facilities I give an ok note because the pool is not available but the rest was perfect. Check in easy. Location is central, that comes with some challenges to drive thru the narrow streets but it's part of the experience. We parked next to the hotel without any issue

The whole property was a delight with a comfortable bedroom and good shower room. Plenty of space for clothes and cases. The lighting in the bathroom was superb but it was a bit too subtle in the bedroom. Great location with available parking close by - although challenging to negotiate the historical streets. The breakfast room was welcoming and we loved the non-corporate feel of the place. The pool was not open but would be a lovely space in the summer.

Beautiful hotel in an old building, design and decor was astonishing, several common rooms with books, sofas, chess boards and other relaxing areas. We spent a lot of time in the lovely garden, and we had a great time just wandering around enjoying the surroundings. Trujillo and Palacio Chavez was our best stop in southern Spain!

“A not very friendly place to stay”
The hotel is in a historic building in a beautiful old town. Parking is practical directly in front of the building. Our room was spacious.

“Great moment.”
I love this quiet, simple hotel that hasn't changed over the years. It's nothing fancy but ticks boxes in terms of authenticity. Great pool. Breakfast a bit sad.

“The building alone needs more than just one night to really get chance to appreciate it.”
The building was an amazing historic building, I felt as though I was staying in a museum! The gardens were very interesting too but being early in the season needed a little tidying and the pool was not ready for use. Set high up in Trujillo it yielded great views on the way back after eating evening meal in the town centre.

“A true historical gem”
Amazing location in the historical center of Trujillo, just a few minutes by walk from the main square but in a quiet area. The house and the garden is full of charm. Room was big and very clean. Breakfast very good. A true gem for travellers in search of authenticity.

fantastic place. we stayed right before the New year. XVI building building with a lot of history, old original prints mixed with modern and contemporary art, ancient and Bauhaus furniture, nice garden, very quiet atmosphere, very nice host who turned out to be a writer, very beautiful surroundings

“Wonderful hotel in a historic town”
A unique, historic property. Excellent location. Spacious comfortable rooms. A fantastic garden and pool area. Breakfast very good. Staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating. This has to be one the best hotels we have EVER stayed at! Thank you and hopefully we will see you again!
