The lobby and common areas were very comfortable and the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The hotel was well-located within Trujillo.

Good location, 5 minute walk from Plaza Mayor. Quiet and peaceful. Friendly helpful staff. Able to park on the street very close to hotel, hotel car park is available at 14€ per day and has EV charging at no extra cost.

The swimming pool with lounge chairs was a nice surprise and a good place to relax. Big room. There are some restaurants close by, no need to go to the city center. Around the corner is a supermarket. Kind staff.

This is our third stay at this hotel over the last 12 years and nothing seems to have really changed. We managed to park on the road outside the hotel. It seems that cars come and go regularly so it's worth sitting for 5-10 minutes to see if you can get a spot. The reception was very friendly and the room and bathroom were good. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the towels were good quality and fluffy. The aircon was not the best we had during our 17-day trip but there was a heatwave so we can make allowances! They serve very good food across the road at the 2* hostal.

I love staying in a historical or traditional building. The Izan did not disappoint, it has been sensitively restored, retaining many of the lovely old features. The bedroom was large, quiet with a comfortable bed and all the amenities required. The staff were very helpful and polite. The swimming pool wasn't open, but it looked a nice place to relax after sightseeing. The hotel is in a great location, 5-10 mins from the main square, therefore it's quiet but close to restaurants, sightseeing etc. We were able to park outside the hotel on the street at no charge.

Beautiful building. Nice breakfast. Room a little hot. Breakfast only starts at 8 (late for us) and they would not allow us to make a cheese sandwich from the breakfast buffet to take away (the packed breakfast alternative was not good). Staff generally very good but one grumpy member of staff at breakfast.

Nice building with good value rooms in a good location. The rooms were clearly the height of cutting edge design in the 1990s, which is great if you like that vibe and want a bathroom phone.
