Casa Rural Las Canteras is located in the Extremadura countryside, 10 km outside the town of Trujillo, in a birdwatching reserve. It has free WiFi in public areas. Las Canteras Casa Rural has its own restaurant which serves typical regional dishes such as lamb stew, tomato soup and Iberian ham. The Casa Rural has a sitting room on the ground floor which is equipped with a TV. There is also a conservatory with views of Trujillo and the surrounding countryside, which is popular with bird-watchers. Las Canteras is 10 km away from the A-5 Motorway which links Badajoz and Madrid. Trujillo is well-known for its castle, a former Moorish palace overlooking the town. Merida is within an hour's drive of the property and Caceres is 40 minutes' drive away.

“An alternative to crazy towns and cities.”
This is a rural property a few KMs from town. It is not a luxury hotel but was comfortable, especially if you want a break from the busy towns/cities. A good breakfast was available for a few extra Euros. The host was welcoming.

“Good location for birdwatching”
Good location for birdwatching, we had a large room with comfortable bed and great views. Host was enthusiastic about birds and kindly got out his telescope for us to look through from the house. Loved all the storks nesting on nearby building.

Good location. In the nature but still a short distance to Trujillo. Well suited for birdwatchers. The owner is a good source of information if you are a birdwatcher.
