“Great location, beautiful views, exceptional customer service.”

Great location in the old town (Bakklandet), beautiful breakfast room with view over the old houses with the best breakfast you can expect in Norway, exceptional customer service on reception (particularly Connie and Vidar, thank you so much for all your help and advice), and we spent several hours in the hotel lounge reading our books and watching the world go by on the river. We will be back in three or four months time.

Clean and comfortable room with kettle and mini fridge. Good powerful shower. Comfortable mattresses. Convient for sightseeing on foot. About 15 minute walk to train station.

Central location for easy access to the city attractions, with easy to access parking Breakfast was very broad with good gluten free/lactose free options Rooms clean and comfortable. Basic, but does the job well Family room perfect for 3-4 travellers - as long as your children dont play up when int he same room for bedtime!! Nice lounge area by the bar - but not much food like bar snacks available... lots of snack bars and restaurants close by though

“Shame”

We arrived at the hotel at 00.10 and it was CLOSED. We rang the doorbell and we tried to phone the hotel number as well the Sandic coustomer care: no answer. After 20 minutes, we were approached in the street by a couple of kind guys. One of them, which apparently works at Scandic Bakklandet, helped us calling somebody he knows and we were told that we'd been moved to a Scandic Nidelven. After 5 minutes walking, carrying our luggages under the rain and with temperature below 0, we finally get to Scandic Niedelven, where the receptionist told us that the Bakklandet was closed because of not enought resevations during the Christmas holidays. No mail or sms to inform us about the situation: 100% sure about it. No excuses, no breakfast or a drink vouchers, no upgrade.

“Comfy and warm hotel to explore Trondheim from”

Great location overlooking the river, short walk into centre of Trondheim, the library, and the park at Kristiansten. Less than 10 min walk to the railway station and the bus to the airport went from outside the front door. Very good breakfast comfy and warm room. The staff were always very welcoming.
