“A perfect, nature‑focused stay in a fully equipped fjord‑front house, ideal for Northern Lights.”

Exceptional stay in every possible way. The house is very well equipped, located in the middle of nature right in front of the fjords, with stunning views. There is a private sauna and everything you need in the kitchen so you can really cook anything you want. The Wi‑Fi is excellent (fiber), fast enough to work remotely without any issue. The setting is extremely quiet and peaceful. Reindeer regularly walk through the garden, which is super cute and magical, and never felt dangerous. We saw the Northern Lights 2–3 times directly from the house, which was absolutely amazing. There are plenty of things to do around, especially the island of Sommarøy where you can hike and explore beautiful landscapes. Overall it’s a very nature‑focused stay, perfect if you want to chase the Northern Lights. There is a small convenience store about 12–13 minutes away where you can find most of what you need. However, I would recommend doing a bigger grocery run at a supermarket near the airport when you arrive, because apart from that small shop there isn’t much else around but honestly, that’s also the charm of the place. You can go straight from the spa to the sea just in front of the house to “live like a Norwegian,” which was an unforgettable experience. Kristin, the host, is incredibly helpful, gives great advice and is very responsive on Booking.

The house is absolutely beautiful and has a fantastic location. We especially loved the sauna and the view of the fjord. The one-hour drive to Tromsø is very convenient. The house is spacious, cozy, and was very clean. We didn’t miss anything. Kristin and Gjermand were very friendly in their communication. Questions were answered quickly and arrangements were made without any problems. We would like to say thank you for the wonderful time.

This holiday home ist absolutely amazing, as well as its owners! From the date of the booking on they've got us a warm welcome and a lot of useful tipps and information. That went in during our stay: Every of our questions got an immediate, friendly reponse. The house ist perfectly located in the nature, facing the water and we were totally lucky to see the northern lights on four of seven nights, even from the kitchen window! Everything is very nice and cosy and clean - and perfectly equipped with literally everything you could maybe need. We all felt really at home and enjoyed our stay here and would like to come back one day. We highly recommend this enchanting accomodation!

The house itself is beautifully and authentic designed and equipped with all modern comforts.(Netflix, sauna, equiped kitchen,...) The house is surrounded by nature and peace. “Most incredible experience we had in the North of Norway 🇳🇴”

Everything was arranged so perfectly! The contact was super great, the same as the location and the house itself. You have everything here that you have at home! We felt very comfortable and relaxed in this environment, we were staying here with our baby (15months old) and she liked it a lot!! By car it is only a 1-hour drive from Tromsø, but you will drive past beautiful places and views that you will never forget! On our road trips we have seen eagles, reindeer and even a group of moose (very rare). I highly recommend renting a car 4x4 with studded wheels for the roads when they are icy and full of snow. You need grip to drive on these roads, as they are not in great condition on the way to and from Tromsø. The location is also in a very dark part of the fjords with almost no light pollution, so if there is any chance of Northern Lights this is the place to go! (also possible to see 10000 stars and flying meteors when the sky is clear). We will be back soon. Next time we will visit Buvikvoll in winter and summer time!

The house and the views were like from a fairytale! The decor was warm, inviting and very inspiring and our kids had hours of fun playing hide and seek. Very nice location with hills, islands, beaches and a good grocery store nearby. The house had everything we needed and the owners were super friendly and provided us with plenty of suggestions for activities.
