“Totally awesome place with good athmosphere. We will be back.”
Everything about this hotel was nice! Our room had an excellent view over the bay - and with the winds blowing from the North it was totally calm on the veranda and by the pool. The staff is very friendly, the food was excellent, the lounge area, with hammocks, pillows and sun chairs was just right.

It really is a hill of calm quiet, no traffic or other noises, beautifull view overseing the see, lovely swimming pool (no chemicals, just salt). Very friendly and capable staff, good kitchen and fresh vegetables, fish. Milk, cheese and meat from there own sheep and goats.

The description of the location contains: Beachfront Once the path from the building down to the coast is repaired and usable again this might be true. The way it is now you walk at least 10 min to the beach. Not my idea of beachfront!

The Hill Of Calm is a beautiful place with excellent food and great hospitality. We came here with our newborn and spent ten days here. Panagiota made us feel at home right from the beginning and we could really enjoy our holidays. The food is excellent (all organic). It's a great place to hide from all the noise around the world. I could have easily spent another few weeks there. There is not much else around except some other restaurants and bars. If you look for a great, quiet place to relax, Hill of Calm can be the right place for you.

“Mixed!”
We were provided 2 rooms which we had pre booked. However when we looked at 2nd room there was visible water coming through corner of room. Both rooms were located under the patio & pool. We also noticed a concrete stairway from outside of our rooms had collapsed. Hill of Calm is set on steep side of hill overlooking the sea. Obviously great location with great views but when we told lady who received us about water she explained there had been an earthquake recently which may have caused a water leak. We had arrived mid evening & when we looked up liklihood of earthquakes found indeed there d been a 1.8 rs quake at 4am that day. However it was very unsettling being offered the room while the leak continued particularly given the concrete stairs to the beach had also collapsed albeit i think earlier in the year. We actually shared 1 room in the end & didn t luckily have to use the 2nd room. The lady offered a much smaller room in place of the studio with water leak but we went to sleep worried that the leak may indicate more serious structural damage above our heads affecting all 3 rooms under the patio & pool! Obviously there was no further movement while we were there but no one apologised or offered any refund as a consequence. I m afraid the hotel should have let us know in advance of the damage & not expected us to sleep in a studio with damage to the structure with a visible water leak! I will be seeking a partial refund.

beautiful place. very good and organic food. you feel like you belong to the family. close to the nicest and wildest places of Crêta. close to God, last time I felt that was around lake orid north macedonia
