“Great lovation close to the beach and lots of great restaurants”

It was in a great location, staff were friendly and the room was newly renovated with great air conditioning and a ceiling fan.

Lovely stay at So-J Beach Villa in Uppuveli. The staff was always kind, courteous, and very attentive to our needs. They generously allowed us a late check-out, which made our last morning much more relaxed before continuing our trip. Breakfast was excellent — fresh, generous, and well prepared every morning. The villa itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with cozy rooms and everything in good order. Great location in Uppuveli, perfect for exploring Trincomalee, relaxing on the nearby beach, and heading out to Pigeon Island for snorkeling. Highly recommended for travelers looking for a well-run beachfront stay with genuinely warm hospitality. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

“Nice location, breakfast and staff. Rooms a bit outdated.”

The location was great, a few mins from the centre and the beach. The bed was good. Aparte wc. Redelijk grote kamer. Nice garden and bungalows. Good breakfast and lovely people.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good quality and generous servings. Bed was comfortable. Nearby beach was great for swimming and there are multiple dining options close by.

Good location and close to beach. Property built different to any other properties around that area. Liked the individual villas with plenty of external space surrounded by trees .

“Great stay, excellent location”

We had a great stay at So-J. The staff were really helpful and the location of the hotel was perfect. We were 2mins walk down to the beach which is where all the bars and restaurants were and then about 5mins down the main road from more restaurants and bars. The breakfast each morning was great the pool was ideal.

A beautiful accomedation with small villas beside a big and very clean pool and its all right beside the ocean. You get free beach towels and the service is really good. The staff is very nice and open. The breakfast is good and they even provide you with breakfast outside the designated breakfast times. We can only recommend.

Extremely welcoming staff who, after arriving early in the morning after a night train, got us into a room ASAP. Genuinely caring throughout our stay. Breakfast was tasty with fresh fruit everyday. 2 minute walk to the beach- beach towels provided also. A great 6 nights stay which ended our month in Sri Lanka.

Excellent location only 200m from the beach and stones throw from restaurans. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was really good. Laundry available was a nice thing to have.

“Delightful and Restful”

Comfortable, quiet, pleasant dipping pool, quick walk to the beach. That was great as you can enjoy the beach and it’s “chaos”, then retreat into serenity to watch the crows or wait for the monkey procession. Nice that there are many local eateries in one direction and the touristic beach food and activities the other direction.

Great location as it is a few minutes from the beach a lot of restaurants. Breakfast was lovely and varied each day. Staff helped in booking tours and transportation. Room was basic but did the job.

As you might have seen , most hotels with pools in trinco have bad reviews. This one is the exception ! Staff is kind , pool is clean , breakfast is good and the rooms are both , large , and clean ! Even the bathrooms are clean and not smelly !! Big thumbs up ! Another important info : it is a huge benefit to have a hotel close to the beach , because EVERYTHING (Diving , restaurants , bars ....) is on the beach !

So-J is perfectly situated, just a two-minute stroll from a wonderful stretch of Uppuveli Beach. This part of the beach strikes a great balance, offering enough restaurants and a diving school for convenience, yet remaining quiet enough for a truly relaxing experience. The accommodation consists of small, very clean villas with excellent air conditioning. The pool is refreshing, and the breakfast is amazing – a fantastic start to each day. Most notably, the staff are incredibly helpful and super friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. So-J is an ideal spot for a peaceful and convenient beach holiday!

“A lovely place with great hospitality”

A lovely little villa very close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. Our room was comfortable, the breakfast was nice and the staff were lovely. Special mention for Rajah, who is very helpful and friendly with a good sense of humour. They now have a pool and I was pleased that I was one of the first to try it!.

“Great location, really comfortable beds and wonderful people”

All staff were wonderful,location was great- just a few steps from a beautiful beach. Very clean, comfortable house with incredibly comfortable beds! Good aircon:) Tasty breakfast, we stayed 6 nights and breakfast was different every day with a consistently fantastic selection of fresh fruit:) they were busy finishing building the swimming so got a bit noisy at times but the owner offered us a discount and apologised for the noise. Overall, we had a great time and the people made it a really great experience and made us feel really welcome:)

Lovely and spacious bungalow very close to the beach. Big and comfy bed! The hotel manager as well as all staff we met were very kind and helpful.

“Good value for money”

They provide small and cute villas which contain all you need. Photos are relevant to reality. We lived in villa 2. Room is quite spacious for family from 3 people. Bedsheets were clean and fresh. Beds were extremely comfortable! AC and boiler worked without failure. Territory is small but well-conditioned. Location is about 5 minutes from popular beach. Breakfasts were the same as provided in the most hosts in Sri Lanka. They gave us different dishes every day. Host was welcoming and helped us to organise fishing. I kindly recommend them!
