I really enjoyed my stay at Blue sand. Every single staff member I met was lovely. Amazing breakfast, way more food than anyone could eat. Just really quiet and comfortable.

“Great hotel on great location with beachbeds and shade”

Location was perfect on the beach. Beachbeds with umbrellas. Room was clean, bed good,shower, good ac, wifi , staff very friendly. Breakfast looking out over the see. Breakfast was big, coffee or tea, eggs the way you like with beans, tomatoes, sausages, patatoes, toast butter jam and all kind of pastries. Sri Lankan cocosbread with chutney and a dessert choice of pancakes or waterbuffelo yogurt with honey. The restaurant also serves a great curry rice. Good cocktail at night like a killer negroni.

Breakfast is a waiter-led meal and portions are more than ample, even for enthusiastic diners. There's the option of either a "western" or Sri Lankan menu; we chose western and enjoyed plates of fresh fruit, glasses of freshly squeezed fruit juice, eggs (omelette and fried), toast, pancakes and tea. We frequently had a light lunch on the beach served from the restaurant; these, too, were tasty and always served with a warm smile.

Breakfast is good. & location is very good.

Location was great, right on the beach. Room was fine, except the sheets were very sandy and the room was not refreshed each day. The purchased food and drink was ideal, but the breakfast was poor, limited selection and not readily replenished, basic and cold.

Travel a lot and there are always some things good and some things less good about a place. Blue Sand had got all the important stuff right - comfy large bed, great air con, good pressure and hot water shower, comfortable sun loungers with various other seating options too, helpful and friendly staff, beachfront location and clean environment. Perfect for the last few days of our trip and a small enough resort to not feel like another tourist in a big resort. We had the best time and hope this gorgeous spot stays this way.

“Very disappointed so we moved hotels to get a decent nights sleep and decent facilities. Would not recommend”

The location was excellent. The housekeeper was lovely and couldn’t do anymore for us whereas reception was poor and unwelcoming with a scruffy whiteboard behind it.

Exceptional in all ways! We adored this oasis on the beach. The sun chairs and carousals added an amazing touch of class and comfort to the incredible beach infront. The staff could not do any more for us.. always there to ensure we were having the best time. There were other hotels/restaurants along the beach front but we ate in our hotel every night. The grill was amazing and such fresh food. One of the older staff members( can’t remember his name) was exceptional and made us feel just at home. We didn’t want to leave!! Paradise!

It was a very nice stay. The staff of the hotel and restaurant made sure we felt at home. They were very helpful, kind and friendly. A huge thanks to the receptionists, the manager and all other guys for such warm welcome. The hotel and the restaurant are located right on the beach, just a few meters to walk. In the evening you could have dinner right on the beach. They had western breakfast and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. It was good breakfast with local fruits and freshly squeezed juice. Special thanks to the Chief for vary tasty dishes for dinner.
