Great and wholeheartedly recommended experience

The staff was exceptionally kind, sweet, helpful and welcoming. The food was delicious and had luxurious variety - it's very recommended to enjoy the breakfast and dinner there. The hot baths, private bath and rock sauna were truly relaxing. Even though the place was slightly away from the centre, the check-in bus and shuttle service were quick and convenient - and it was a rather quick walk even on foot. The traditional futons actually became our favourite and most restoring sleeping experience. The stay was a definite highlight of the trip!

I really enjoyed the private onsen and the food. It is a bit far from the city center with all the public onsens, but it's okay since they can give you a lift to the center in a car The fact that it is far from the center makes it quieter than other ryokans

A delightful place to stay in gorgeous Kinosaki

Tasteful ryokan in Kinosaki, with easy access to the town, delightful staff, delicious breakfast and dinner with seasonal crab. Really nice to have convenient onsen in the hotel for unwinding, yukata hire provided and really easy to get the complimentary shuttle to and from the onsen in the main town.

The most incredible experience we had in Japan. The staff were incredible, the onsen was beautiful and everything was ju

Incredible stay—more than just a room, but an entire experience. From the moment we were picked up at the train station, we were made to feel so welcome and as if nothing was too much. All of the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and it was so amazing.

Give yourself a luxurious treat!

This is a beautiful spot of luxury in a gorgeous hot-springs town. The hotel is up a hill out of town a little way (about a kilometre). It's a lovely walk if you take the backroads through the neighbourhood, but there is also a shuttle bus. The staff are outstanding (even when we made mistakes because we did not understand something - the hotel is actually closed (and you are not free to come and go from your room) at specified times during the day). The rooms are genuinely beautiful and you can smell the fresh tatami. There are fabulous eating houses within a short walk from the hotel. The baths on site are beautiful and the whole place has the air of refined Japanese style and comfort.

Recommended for one night, a bit of a hassle for more nights.

-The dinner and breakfast was really good. We stayed two nights and got different breakfast and dinners both days. Dinner was served in our room and breakfast was served in the common room. -You can book a private onsen for 40min, that one was really nice. -The women's bath is also nice, but only indoors. But there are two heated stone chairs where you can lie and relax. Also I was alone in the bath when I went before breakfast. (My husband didn't try the man's bath but that one is only outdoors I think) -You get an onsen pass for the entry to all onsen in the city valid from 15:00 check-in date to 15:30 check-out date. Not sure how it works with the towels if you go to the onsen after checking out (which you have to do until 10:00) -You get a towels, yukata, overcoat, jacket, shoes, as well as boots and umbrellas for bad wheater, to borrow from them. For women there is a wide selection of yukata to borrow for free, men get their standard yukata.

WWe will not stay at this hotel again since we are elderly customers

Breakfast and dinner time is no choice for us to choose, only one time slot to eat is not good for us

Great Onsen Hotel. If you go during the autumn - this hotel would be the perfect and nice view.

Dinner and breakfast including the rooms were spectaculars. We enjoyed the moments with friends and the fully support and mind services from staffs.

In one word: exquisite

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the stay a highlight of my month-long trip across Japan. The stay included half board and each set was different from the last, with carefully selected local delicacies and Japanese traditional meals. Filling and delicious. The Ryokan is just outside of Kinosaki and offers a shuttle service to and from town, allowing you to visit each and every bathhouse at your own pace. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service provided and will be sure to return when I next visit Japan.

We had an amazing stay at Tenbouen. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was such a nice experience to live in an authentic, traditional japanese room. The food was wonderful, and the staff explained what everything was and how to eat it, which was nice since we are not Japanese. I highly recommend going to Kinosakionsen in general, it such a nice town, but especially to stay at Tenbouen!
