Overview
Surrounded by lush nature on Mount Hakkoda, Tsuta Onsen Ryokan offers a hot spring bath, Japanese cuisine and a free shuttle to/from Shichinohe-Towada. The property features a restaurant and free parking, while rooms come with a Japanese area. Japanese-style rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and traditional futon bedding. All rooms have a TV, a seating area and an en suite toilet, while a safe and yukata robes are provided. Guests at Japanese inn Onsen Tsuta can go hiking in Tsuta Forest or unwind in the all-wooden public hot spring bath, which is separate per gender. A breakfast buffet with Japanese food is served daily at the dining room, which offers a Japanese dinner in the evening. Restaurant Tsuta offers udon noodles and other Japanese meals between 11:30 and 13:30. Tsuta Onsen Ryokan is located next to Tsuta Forest, a 15-minute drive from Okuirise River. JR Aomori Train Station is an 80-minute drive.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience and we are already looking forward to returning! The room was fantastic, and the food exceeded all our expectations. The staff was exceptional, demonstrating both approachability and professionalism. Despite being the only foreigners there, we felt completely included and welcomed. This place truly made our stay memorable, and we can't wait to visit again!

The meals were very good, although the skewered whole trout would not be to everyone's taste. Tsutanuma pond is only 10 mins. walk from ryokan and an amazing natural feature at sunrise in autumn.

“Exceptional stay at a beautiful onsen ryokan!”
I think it’s the most beautiful and charming hotel we stayed at so far! The rooms and onsen are just stunning, traditional looking but extremely clean and well maintained. The women’s bath is incredible, very high ceiling and you get the impression to go back in time a few centuries. The staff was exceptional, making us feel very welcome and comfortable, so friendly and helpful. The food was michelin standard, and the ryokan is basically in the middle of a beautiful forest - everything was perfect!! Thank you so much!

“Fantastic and wonderful stay”
I didn’t regret for booking 2N here. It’s not cheap but there’s some which are even more expensive… We paid ¥58908 half board ( dinner +breakfast) each night for a couple. They’ve a welcome drink ( apple juice n coffee) daily. There’s a large relaxing room with comfortable chairs for you to admire the garden n ice-creams ( though very small ones) provided n water . We were given 15 min onsen free for couple-room which you can paid for 1-hr usage if you like to spend longer time with your spouse. They’ve gender segregated onsen for hotel guests free. The meals are just heavenly. Staff are helpful n friendly n can speak some English ( very important for non-locals like us who don’t speak n understand Japanese ) Definitely will come back if visiting this place again. Lastly want to thank Tsuta Onsen Ryokan and Booking.com for their alliance together so that I can book confidently without worry ( some ryokans only book via their website n it’s all in Japanese 😅🤣🥹) . Always Booking.com is my FIRST CHOICE in all my booking for hotel stay as they presented the important n relevant information clearly. Thank you Tsuta onsen ryokan and your staff for such an amazing experience and Booking.com for making booking easier.

“Miraculous”
This Ryokan has one of the best hot spring water in Japan. It’s our fourth time to come visit here, and I always cannot appreciate enough everything about this Ryokan. Best Onsen, food is fabulous and staff members are super kind. We will surely come back as always.
