“Expensive but otherwise typical non-new business hotel”
The hotel and room was fine - typical Japanese business hotel room with bathtub and a tiny fridge (that was switched off on arrival). View was quite nice from floor 12. There is an electric outlet by the bed. Location is great just by the main train station.

“good value for solo travel requirements”
I prefer hotels that are close to transport hubs; have basic facilities suited to solo traveller (mainly, washing machines); and have convenient eating options nearby (usually found in/around á train station). Washington hotel met these requirements. The hotel shows its age around the edges, but there was actually some charm in the old style gilt mirrors, etc. Other small bonuses: quiet, even though close to train line (Tottori not very busy anyway); good view of city and surrounding hills from upper floor room. Room size more than adequate. Too bad I didn't have the time to stay another couple of days. I would have enjoyed it.

“Very Convenient Location”
Very close to JR Station. Exit from North and turn right and you can already see the building. The bus station to Tottori Sand Dunes is next to the station (left side). There are also many restaurants within 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
