It was located across a canal, so we weren’t disturbed by the (sometimes) loud ‘night life’ of Tortuguero, Plenty of animal encounters just in the garden of the lodge. Daniel was a good guide who went the extra mile, to make sure we had a great experience.

Had a wonderful time here, with the lodge right next to the river on the opposite side of the more busy Tortuguero. Daniel and Wilfredo are super nice and made our days there great - they help you book anything you like, organize it for you, suggest activities etc.. they will also transfer you by boat back and forth to Tortuguero when you want. They are both locals with great knowledge about the forest and the animals living there. Simple but good breakfast. The facilities are rustic and charming, something you should expect at Tortuguero (no AC, not really hot water in the shower). We also saw two howler monkeys in the backyard, a nice bonus!

“A secret escape”
Great, secluded lodge in the middle of the nature. We loved being woken by the monkeys playing outside in the trees. Very helpful staff. The lodge is situated on the other side of the river then the tortuguero city. This was no problem, since the owners send a boat to bring/pick us up whenever we wanted.

“Warm hospitality in a beautiful, remote location”
Wilfreo is incredibly friendly and always happy to help with any questions or tours you’d like to do. The breakfast is delicious and very generous. I felt so welcome, and it’s such a beautiful place to stay.

“Great service”
The staff is amazing! Very kind and helpful with arranging tours and transportation. They made our room extra special because we are on our honeymoon. Everything is clean and the room and bathroom are nice. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast was good: fresh fruits, rice and beans, eggs and toast with jam. There are nice hammocks to enjoy and chairs to side beside the water. The hotel is located on the opposite side of the river from the village, but they have their one watertaxi to bring you there and after a text they come for pick up. Great service! It is a nice, tranquilo place, surrounded by nature. We saw a big group of howler monkeys in the garden, great experience!

“The employees where the best!”
The employees were 👌. But no air conditioning. We didn't know it was on the other side of the city. So we had to take the taxi boat to reach it. No bottle water at the room.

“Great getaway from main buzz of town.”
Off the beaten track so much quieter than town but short boat ride away free or a few colones. Very clean and looks new. Sitting at restaurant dock watching birds and boats v peaceful. Characterful owner. Good breakfast
