The location was excellent. In a quieter part of the village. Lots of animals to see in the trees such as howler and spider monkeys and sloths.

Superb location - secluded & we were able to spot a spider monkey & an iguana right outside. Rodrigo and all of his staff were exceptional.

Already the arrival was very pleasant: We were welcomed by Gabriel who picked us up from the boat and walked us to our house. The house was great! Lovely decorations, super clean, good wifi, kitchen equipped with everything you need, quiet and with green all around and right at the boarder of the National Park. Gabriel and his colleague Rodrigo gave us a little walking tour around the village with recommendations for restaurants and info/history about the town with a visit to the Turtle Museum. They were such great guys that we decided to do a Canoe tour with them the next morning and also that we enjoyed very much. Tortuguero is amazing and peaceful with its infinite beach, the canals & the park with its amazing wildlife - definitely one of our highlights of our Costa Rica trip.

“Comfortable house amongst nature and great hosts”

Casa Chilamates is a lovely house set amongst the nature of Tortuguero where you can enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings full of wildlife. Rodrigo and his wife are perfect, friendly hosts. They live in the neighbouring property and are easy to communicate with at all times. Set on the edge of the village right next to the national park. We saw several monkeys and wildlife from the terrace. We booked excellent trips with Rodrigo who runs the Trips Navitos guided tours. Local guide Gabriel met us at the house for each trip and was an enthusiastic guide throughout our stay. Tortuguera was our favourite stay in Cost Rica and Rodrigo made our trip so memorable. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in town so didn't need to use the kitchen facilities. A place to make great memories.

The location was perfect and the house reasonably well-equipped. The hammocks were good to relax in.

The location was great, right on the edge of the rainforest and the beach, national park and restaurants easy to reach. The property has many large windows which can be opened up to make it feel like you are right in the middle of the jungle. Staff were very friendly and check in was easy.

“Jungle house on the edge of town”

Location was good in the edge of the national park, where we could see the wildlife. It was clean and kitchen facilities were good. They cleaned whilst we were there and the owner was very responsive when we needed help. We were met at La Pavona boat service and guided to the house in Tortuguero which was helpful.

“Amazing stay in Tortuguero”

The property is very clean, the beds very comfortable, the Wi-Fi works excellently. The interior decoration is very good style (if I am not mistaken, many decorations are produced by Rodrigo and his wife). The house, is located slightly outside the center of the village at the edge of the jungle: at night, the sounds of nature are fantastic! Special mention goes to Rodrigo, his wife and Arturo, our hiking guide. Great people, extremely kind and helpful. Such friendliness is a rare commodity these days! I highly recommend the proposed tours, Arturo is extremely knowledgeable and will make you experience unique moments!

“Great house on edge of jungle”

great location on the edge of the town, right next to the national park. We saw many animals (monkeys, toucan, parrots) just from our terrace. Just a short walk (5 min) to town centre and docks. Bedroom has aircon and you can hang your musquito net. Spacious kitchen with stove, oven and large fridge. Host Rodrigo is always available through whatsapp and helped arrange tours (Canoe tour with guide Abel was great) and transport.
