“Island Life”

We liked that it was a ride away from town, we stayed here as our first few nights in costa rica and it made us switch off instantly- loved slow island life! Food was also incredible, so tasty! All activities were booked for us through Will- so grateful, will remember this place for a lifetime 🙏

“Nice place but….”

The room was basic but clean. The gardens are really nice and you can see various birds and wildlife. I preferred this location away from the town, however it does mean you are somewhat isolated if you don’t want to walk the 40mins into town in the heat. We did it twice, it was a pleasant walk with various wildlife to see. Nice hammocks to relax in overlooking the river.

The remoteness. Our boat tour into the park was fantastic. The venue does its own tours. Sitting on our veranda listing to the birds and animals was very special.

Beautiful garden ,good for bird life pool quiet and peaceful.. private bird watching boat tour with Wills 3 was exceptional his knowledge and enthusiasm made for a memorable trip.

Paradise! Clear communication on how to get the boat and booking tours of the canals and forest areas. Delicious food!

Very peaceful away from the centre of Tortugero. Lovely gardens with wildlife on your doorstep including Toucans and Sloths. Short walk to the beach ( not for swimming) Home cooked delicious evening meal. Tours available from the resort.

“Great family lodge in lovely location.”

This is a gem of a family-run lodge in a great location just north of Tortuguero village. The grounds are lovely with access to the Caribbean and the accommodation in bungalows in the grounds is delightful. Dinner can be booked and is very nice, breakfast is included and excellent. Very friendly and helpful.

Right by the beach…good value for money

Peaceful, quiet, well maintained gardens, friendly staff and dogs. The Rankins are a lovely family who care about their lodge and giving their guests a great experience!

Tortoguero is an amazing place. The location is amazing. We enjoyed the food which was fairly priced though the choices are understandably restricted. The boat trip was great and we saw loads of animals. We managed to see a green turtle laying her eggs which was amazing although the turtle tour felt quite crowded and a little rushed. We enjoyed the little pool. All the staff were friendly.

“Fantastic hotel in paradise!”

Beautiful setting for a hotel. We loved the boat trip there, and the nightly boat trips into town. Willis 3rd was a great guide, pointing out the wildlife on the way. The hotel is in a lovely setting, very well maintained with a nice size pool for cooling off. Everything was kept very clean and the food we had was very good. We loved relaxing on the hammocks, and were really lucky with the turtle tour to see a turtle laying her eggs within minutes of starting the tour. An experience we will never forget! Thank you.

Super friendly staff, super helpful. The lodge is run as a and with the whole family. The lodge area is beautiful with nice plants, birds in the trees and a swimming pool in the middle.
