When we first arrived to the Hostal I was immediately skeptical of it, and unfortunately, my doubts were confirmed. I booked it for three nights, but we ended up leaving on the same day due to its deplorable condition. The booking description failed to mention the numerous steps at the entrance, which made it inaccessible for my elderly mother, who has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair. The corridor reeked of air freshener, making it hard to breathe. The room door lock was unreliable and seemed to have been damaged before. The room itself was dismal, with a tiled veranda, and a noisy air conditioning unit. After a long journey, we tried to take a nap but were disturbed by a cleaning lady and a stranger who knocked on the door by mistake. During my nap, I got bitten by an insect and suffered a severe allergic reaction. I also saw some cockroaches at the room. When I reported the issue to the manager, he promised to follow up but never did. He seemed more concerned about getting a bad review but not helping us. The property deserves every criticism it gets. I regret not reading the reviews before booking.

I never thought I would have to write such a review, but unfortunately, the situation unfolded in such a way that I am compelled to share what happened to me. On March 12th, 2025, I booked a room at this hotel (Hostal Gran Via Levante - Calle Patricio Zammit, 60, 03182 Torrevieja, Spain) through Booking.com because I urgently needed a place to stay. I missed my flight, and due to the circumstances, I needed somewhere to rest and get some sleep before my early morning flight. When I arrived at the room and turned on the light, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I saw COCKROACHES in the room. It wasn’t just unpleasant—it was HORRIFIC . I immediately left the room without even unpacking my things and contacted the owner, requesting a refund for the room, as I obviously couldn’t stay there. I faced complete ignoring of my messages and calls the next day. I was in shock from such treatment. That night, I had to find another place to stay. I was forced to search for a hotel in another area at the last minute because the situation with the cockroaches was completely unacceptable!!! This wasn’t just an unfortunate experience—it was a NIGHTMARE . I was in a foreign city without a place to stay, completely confused. Moreover, I lost money for a room I didn’t stay in, as the owner hasn’t addressed this issue. And the worst part is I received no response to my messages. This is completely unacceptable, and I am asking for your help in getting a REFUND for the room I could not stay in due to serious hygiene violations!!!!! Please understand how difficult and unpleasant this situation was for me, especially since I had no other choice but to search for accommodation at such a late hour. Please help me resolve this issue and return my funds. I will be grateful for your attention to my situation. If necessary, I will immediately contact the police regarding the negligence towards customers and the failure to maintain sanitary conditions at the hotel.

The lady behind the counter is very helpful and made sure everything was OK for us at check in and explained keys and access to hotel during reception times

The Hostal is dated and needs a bit of modernisation. However it was clean, tidy and the towels were soft and the beds were comfortable and it is close to the bus station in Torrevieja.
