Overview
Hotel Carvajal is located in Torrejón el Rubio, just outside Extremadura’s Monfragüe National Park. Owned by farmers, the hotel’s restaurant serves home-reared meat and home-grown vegetables. The air-conditioned rooms at the Carvajal feature free Wi-Fi and a TV. Each one has a private bathroom with a hairdryer. The surrounding countryside is popular for hiking and horse riding. Plasencia is 45 minutes’ drive from Torrejón el Rubio. The hotel is just under an hour’s drive from Cáceres, whose beautiful town centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

“The hotel is convenient travelling up and down Spain. It is friendly. Needs more thought for guests.”
The fact the hotel had its own restaurant was a bonus. Breakfast was ok but see below comments. I liked that they allowed us to check in earlier than normal - but the normal check in was 1800 which is very late!

Quite simple but ok hotel, only stairs (not ok for a bad knee), room ok but could be helped with some updates. Restaurant at the hotel with good foood, nice breakfast.

We could park our bicycles inside. Everybody was friendly. The hotel is perfect for a visit to the monfragüe biosphere reservate. and above all is the high quality food.

“Surprising comfortable”
At first I thought it was very basic, but actually turned out to be very comfortable. Room was nice and warm, beds comfortable and even the shower was good too. We arrived at 10 pm and were told that we could have dinner in the dinning room away from the noisy bar. Food was delicious, they prepared an omelette for our 2 year old. I have to recommend the 'Revuelto de queso torta al casar y espárragos' and the 'natillas'! We also had a very late breakfast (11 am) Most places probably wouldn't serve breakfast so late, when included in the room charge!
