Cozy, home feeling. Clean, tidy with a wonderful view from the terrace. Hosts were kind, helpful and happy to have guests. Wonderfull experience of being a friend somewhere in Juliana Alps versus being a guest at a corporate hotel. Loved it !!!

What an amazing place to stay on the Juliana Trail. Roger and Louise are lovely people and they made us feel so at home - we had a drink with them on arrival and it was really nice getting to know them and their story. We had a really beautiful room with a comfy bed and good hot shower and access to their terrace with a picnic bench and umbrella - it's an amazing spot for the sunset. Louise also made us a really delicious dinner of spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread and salad. We couldn't have been happier that we chose this place. We wanted to leave very early the next day because of the heat but they do also provide breakfast if you want it. They gave us a great tip about the next stage of the trail - Pizzeria Jezero in Most Na Soci - and we had great pizza, greek salad and homemade ice cream for lunch!

Lovely guesthouse where I felt immediately welcomed. I was so happy in the beautiful single room. (I’d say nicer than the photos.) Louise prepared a great dinner and breakfast, with personal individually prepared pastries. Thanks Roger for the delicious local meat and cheeses chosen for breakfast and the after dinner schnapps. Highly recommended.

Staying with Louise and Roger was great experience! In one evening I felt like we knew each other for a long time. It was like visiting good friends. From everywhere you turn, you can see that they enjoy being hosts, welcoming people into their home. The surrounding is exceptional and taking a cold plunge in Bača river 10 minutes walk down the path was a special treat. I'll come back!

Beautifully appointed guesthouse, with everything finished to a high standard, without losing a sense of homeliness. Run by an English couple who have fallen in love with Slovenia and explored the area thoroughly, so their recommendations of what to see can be relied on. Worth taking up the option of an evening meal, as there is nowhere to eat locally in the evening.

“A wonderful rural stay: quiet, comfortable, and a beautiful spot!”

As the name suggests, Hisa Brdo is a guesthouse up in in the hills outside Tolmin. The misty morning mountain views are still in our minds! You can really switch off here. A very warm greeting and great hospitality from Roger and Louise throughout the stay. We enjoyed the option to have dinner there on both nights (you need to reserve in advance) - hearty and delicious pasta dishes, perfect after a long day out when you just want to unwind and stay put. Wonderful terrace to relax on after an active day out, also sunset facing. Also a homely living room with television and games. The location is remote in that you need a car or bike to get there. The nearest town is a 15 mins or so away. And very important for us, the guest house is pet friendly.

I loved the house, the location is amazing, being able to come home to dinner is so nicel, and Roger and Louise are so warm and kind! It was also the perfect place to stay first because they gave me so many great recommendations for all over Slovenia for the rest of my trip. I will 100% stay there again if I come back to Slovenia.

Great stay and very kind owners. We came spontaneously as the weather went bad. We are now grateful it did because of the nice and warm hospitality we received. I will come back again. Next time we want to experience the nice terrace they have. It was all clean and super cozy.

“Warm stay, great view!”

We had one night stay during our road trip but we would be happy to come back one day for a longer stay. Roger and Louise are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room is very comfortable, very clean. Little touch in the room by Louise - makeup remover and cotton :) very nice taste of decoration with a great view. We felt that we were in a friend/family house for a visit. Thank you for everything, hopefully we will come again. :)

This place is a real home from home, set in the most stunning location, with tonnes to do nearby. Please, if you stay here consider staying a few nights and exploring the local areas and hikes, I passed through and it was my favourite part of Slovenia, I will definitely return. Roger and Louise are the perfect hosts and welcomed me so warmly into their home. Their meals are exceptional and it was the comfiest nights sleep I've had in ages, super soft sheets and a lovely room. I got to see an incredible sunset over the mountains and opened my window this morning to hear the birds singing- such a peaceful experience. Highly recommend staying here as a homely and comfortable base for adventures in Slovenia.
