In a cool neighbourhood in a great location close to Asakusa, and very close to a train station with useful train lines to get around the city. Very comfy bed and pillow, I had some of the best nights sleep in my cozy bottom bunk. Loved the beautiful, quirky common area and overall design of the place. They even had free snacks, plus plenty of tea & coffee. Isa was an incredible host and you can tell it's a family run place. I'll definitely be back!!

“Perfect!”

This is the best guesthouse that could ever happen to you. The bed is so comfortable that I even bought the same pillow for my home. Everything is spotlessly clean. The owner, Isa, is incredibly hospitable and always ready to help. The atmosphere feels just like home. I originally booked for a week, but ended up extending my stay for a couple more days because I simply didn’t want to leave. I will definitely come back here at the first opportunity.

“A calm hostel to discover Kuramae and all Tokyo”

5 min by foot from the nearest station, exploring Kuramae and Asakusa by foot was easily. The district is quiet to stay after a long day. You can also meet people in the common areas. I would recommend to stay and would happily come back. The family is welcoming and friendly.

I loved the neighborhood and Isa is such a kind host. Highly recommend to stay here if you want to feel like a local. Many nice coffee shops in this area. Close to the river which is nice for strolls and runs. Familiar atmosphere with other backpackers.

We had a lovely room, Isa was really helpful and friendly throughout our stay and the property as a whole looks great whilst having a relaxed vibe. Being here allowed us to stay in Tokyo for an affordable price without compromising our comfort or the location. We were in walking distance of Asakusa, Ueno Park, and Kappabashi street. It was also very easy to get to other popular spots by train like Tsukiji Fish Market, Ginza, Roppongi, and Akihabara. It’s also on a direct line to Haneda airport which is really handy.

Iza was very helpful with everything and also very polite and communicative. The location is also very good because you are close to good restaurants, some tourist attractions (SKYTREE, UENO Park for cherry blossom).

I had such a wonderful stay at Tokyo Hikari Guesthouse! 💕 Isa-san and Yumiko-san are the sweetest hosts — so kind and caring, they truly made me feel at home. The guesthouse is in a quiet area but still close to many great spots, super convenient! Everything was clean, cozy, and filled with good vibes. The other guests were also very friendly and respectful. I’d definitely love to come back next time I visit Tokyo! ☺️🌸

“Your definite right choice”

It was the best experience I ever had in a guesthouse. It was extremely calm and quiet, lovely tea and coffee available, and as long as the share mates follow the rules, it will be the most cleanest, safest, beautiful guesthouse there is. Isa and Yumiko keeps the house remarkable, and very loved. You can feel their love in each and every corner of the house. It’s not cold either! If you are worried about the winters, they keep the house at a comfortable temperature. The bedding is to die for. The blanket I had was a weighted blanket, allowing more comfortable sleep. The bed area was a long bed + enough room for a check in baggage to fit so it was nice and roomy. Their plug points are not international so make sure you have a 110v converter with you! There is a multi-tab for roughly 3 more plugs to be available. I had such a pleasant time and I would love to come here again and again. Best place to be in Tokyo🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 +) Kuramae station is 2 min by walk if you come out right. 40 minutes to shinjuku, 1h to Meguro, and pleaaassseeee look around Kuramae area it’s so zen😭🫶🏼 enough life, no crowd. ほんとにありがとうございますイサ&ユミコさん。また会えたらいいですね！

“Welcoming owners and good location”

The best thing about this guesthouse are the owners. They are incredibly welcoming and nice and take very good care of you. I got very good recommendations for restaurants and places to visit in the area. The place was always very clean. The location is very good, just 5 minutes from the next subway station. Kuramae in general is a good neighborhood from where you can get to other parts of the city quite easily. I can highly recommend staying at this place.

“Best way to end Japan 🫶”

The neighbourhood is simply amazing, with a lot of local cafes and unique atmosphere. The owners are extremely kind and welcoming people. They helped me a lot during my stay, conversations with them were also really friendly and helpful. Beds are pretty comfortable and spacious, you can use earplugs they provide for free, so even when me neighbour was snoring it wasn’t a big issue. I can not recommend this place enough, I will stay here during my next trip to Tokyo for sure

Clean, comfortable, and convenient. The hosts are very kind, and I really love the neighborhood’s atmosphere and their map of recommended local spots. I hope to come back on future trips.

Isa was friendly and welcoming and explained everything about the hostel to me on my arrival and showed me my dorm. Even in Tokyo it's quiet outside at night! The beds were comfortable and each bed had its own little fan and light. Everyone in my dorm was quiet and respectful of the night time so I got a good sleep! Would definitely consider staying here again!

It was social and Isa the host was so nice and accommodating. Would book again for sure!
