“Lovely stay at the start and end of our trip.”

Lovely small guesthouse/hostel. Excellent location, only a few minutes walk to a Shiinamachi Station metro station, which is one stop from Ikebukuro Station, which then has transport across the city. We started and ended our trip in Tokyo and the owner was incredibly friendly when we first arrived, and even more so when we came back.

“Convenient place to stay in Tokyo!”

The owners were extremely and helpful. The place has a great feel to it and is well equipped. Great placement just one station away from Ikebukuro which is great to move around Tokyo and outside. Easy access to stores (711, family mart) and nice restaurants.

Sachiko-san welcomed us with great kindness and warmth. Sheena & Ippei reflects that kindness and you immediately feel comfortable and at home! The traditional room we stayed in was beautiful, well-maintained, and very clean; we slept very well throughout our 5-night stay. We were fortunate to have a wonderful time here, full of joy and nice meetings and we hope that if life allows us to return to Tokyo, we will stay at Sheena & Ippei again. “Cosy, calm, and close to the action”

Great place with lots of charm, in a quiet neighbourhood but still within easy reach of Shinjuku and Shibuya. The room was warm and cosy while still being a decent size, and the common area had a relaxed, homey feel. Staff were lovely, and the free morning coffee was a really nice touch

The hosts were amazing, this made our Tokyo stay feel so welcoming and special. The accommodation was so lovely and felt very traditional but with all the style and modern luxuries.

We had a fabulous stay - lovely place, great room, great coffee. The staff were so welcoming and even helped us transport our luggage from Tokyo to Osaka. We wish we could have stayed longer !! Easy walking distance to the train and good food nearby.

Out of the crowded area of Tokyo but still well connected with main neighbourhoods to We had the tatami superior room and it was spacious and clean. The owner is very nice and is always helping you with advice . Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay at Sheena To Ippei — such a cool and well connected neighbourhood. The staff were so friendly and the whole facility so beautiful and well equipped. The perfect stay in Tokyo!

Super friendly staff and lovely room. Comfortable futons and the little homely touches were very nice. We had a great stay. We loved the neighbourhood although it is a little way out and quiet. Lovely neighbourhood space downstairs.

Really nice welcome and recommendations by owners. Loved the restaurants and sento in the area. The beds and rooms are super cozy and I slept well.

Sachiko, her husband and her team are lovely! The place really feels like a home, which is why we've come back so many times and hope to come back again. Sheenamachi has loads of nice little restaurants, and is a bit off the beaten track so you get a taste of the real Tokyo.

This was my favourite place to stay during my time in Japan. The owners are super friendly, the room was very comfy and the neighbourhood was amazing to explore as it is more of a residential and not a very touristy area. I loved every bit of my stay and found it to be very relaxing. It's great to rest here after exploring Tokyo for the entire day.

Warm and welcoming people who did their best to make us feel at home from the start. A lovely Japanese atmosphere in a great neighborhood away from busy Tokyo. Would recommend for those who are looking for a quite, authentic stay in Tokyo!

Sachiko-san and all the staff were very welcoming and nice. We enjoyed the common room downstairs, our morning coffee and the beds were comfortable. The location was good, with lots of shops and restaurants around. Thank you for this wonderful stay at the end of our trip !

Comfortable, extremely clean rooms and shared bathrooms, with an excellent location (very close to a train station and many great, local shops and restaurants - not many tourists). Staff is excellent (Sachiko is so friendly and helpful!), and the common areas are great as well.

“Enjoyable stay”

Sachiko was great. We had a brief chat each morning over a cuppa almost like friends - plans, how was yesterday, etc. She was also gave me helpful advice when I asked. We communicated through google translate well 🙌🙌🙌 I really appreciated her and felt in the end I settled in quite well after my 5 night stay. The location of the place was close to shiinamachi station which required an extra transfer from ikebukuro. Taking the subway- figuring out the stations, multiple transfers- can be tiring but I really liked the suburb. It made me feel grounded being able to see where everyday people lived ( I was able to do pullups at a local park, get onigiri and candied sweet potatos from a rice shop, have really good Chinese food close by, etc) If I'd stayed longer, I'd be keen to try the massage place across from this accommodation also. The aforementioned Ikebukuro is a big transit hub and if you're after any souvenirs you could get pretty much anything there.
