Andon Ryokan is a 5-minute walk from Minowa Subway Station and a 20-minute walk from the historical Asakusa. Boasting award-winning architecture, the hotel offers a hot tub, bicycle rentals and Japanese-style rooms with free wired internet. Guest rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring with traditional futon bedding. Each room is equipped with a TV and a DVD player. Toilets and bathroom facilities are shared. The Ryokan offers cultural activities such as tea ceremony and flower arrangement classes. There is a launderette on site for guests’ convenience. Andon offers a selection of delicious Western breakfasts, which are cooked to preference and served in the common kitchen. Ryokan Andon is a 10-minute journey from downtown area Ueno.

I had a fascinating and new experience! The food is so delicious, and the manager is very kind. It was a bit inconvenient to wash in the morning because it was a shared bathroom and toilet, but I can say it was a good experience. It was a choice I had no regrets about it. Thank you!

Everything about our stay was perfect. The location is super convenient, and the entire place is spotlessly clean. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they are incredibly well-designed—everything you need is right there, and sleeping on the traditional futons was an amazing, extra-comfortable experience. The best part, though, is the staff! They are super nice and went above and beyond to help us, even arranging our luggage forwarding. Incredible hospitality. We will definitely be back!

Quiet location in an otherwise busy Tokyo. A bit tricky to find, but worth it. I liked the traditional sleeping style on a mattress and the tatami floor. The Japanese style breakfast was great too.

It's super cozy and a good deal. Especially having an authentic fresh made breakfast ncluded is really great. We have been here for several nights. Definitely try the Japanese breakfast options!

“TOP! Modern approach on a traditional ryokan!”
Great modern ryokan/hotel with great staff in a central but calm location. IMHO one of the best out there. If you want a true Japanese experience don’t hesitate to book! Loved the blend of modern and tradition. Splendid breakfast!

“Perfect Tokyo Stay!”
Loved my stay here - the rooms are lovely, quiet, glean and have everything you need, the shared facilities are always really clean and well stocked and the jacuzzi access is lovely! Location is always great and feels like a peaceful oasis in Tokyo. A particular highlight of our stay here was the breakfast - it was DELICIOUS!! I had the vegan natto set breakfast which set me up perfectly. We loved our stay here so much we cancelled our next accommodation and booked an extra night at Andon Ryokan which they were happy to accommodate.

“Unique small Ryokan with beautiful design and amazing food.”
Andon Ryokan was one of my favourite places to stay in Japan (I was travelling in different areas of the country for 4 weeks). The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and I especially recommend the Japanese meals. The Ryokan is beautifully designed and maintained and it's very unique and aesthetically really beautifully put together environment. There is a private bath to book (simple process via speaking to reception to put your room number down for a time slot). The rooms are relatively small (I would say probably still actually good for Tokyo!) but for the size they are superbly equipped and put togehter. I also like Minowa as an area. Big bonus also: there is a luggage lift!

Really comfy beds - especially the pillows. Jacuzzi was lovely. In a quiet and peaceful area of Tokyo about 20-30 minutes away from the centre on the metro - but attractions such as the Senso-Ji shrine are in walking distance!

I want to be honest to you since your place is a foreigner place 1. Bedroom is very small for a couple 2. Your batroom/ kitchen / toilet are outside and its sharing with other guest 3. No TV 4. Toilet is very important to anyone incase you have emergency need like pee so how can you use it if there some one using it because this is a common toilet .... 4. No elevator for senior citezen And a lot more....really sad 🥺🥺🥺😢😢😢😢
