The cabana itself was absolutely beautiful. Extremely clean and spacious. A rustic setting but with all the convenience of modern facilities (excellent shower/sink/ toilet/ TV etc). Beds were super comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They even packed us a picnic breakfast to take on safari and came to help us get a large bug out of our room in the evening.

It was very calm and quiet. And it is facing the Yodakandiya Lake and it has a good view.

We joked that we were staying in a tent in someones back garden, what we got was a beautiful purpose built Cabana, which was luxury glamping, taken to a new level. The room itself was very spacious, with a beautifully comfortable bed, mosquito nets, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water supplied. The flushing toilet shower and sink was separated by a curtain, and supplied a lovely range of: toiletries and everything you would need all provided complimentary. This had a real home from home feel, with all meals being cooked by the mother of Surani (the owner) We originally booked for B&B, and were asked if we required dinner, which we gladly accepted, all the meals were beautiful and we were thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our stay. The day we visited Yala Safari park, we had an early start, and Lake View Cabanas provided us with a beautiful packed breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The property also had its own generator and a very good wifi, which were able to use throughout our stay, so any power outages were not an issue. This is a new venture for this family, and they certainly went above and beyond, in ensuring our stay was of the highest standard throughout, and we wish them every success for the future. 3 beautiful cabanas set on a large plot just outside Yala National park. The cabanas are pure luxury, with the most comfortable four poster bed, high end shower and toilet facilities with locally sourced toiletries and decorated with the most luxe interiors - we were very impressed. The family who manage the property made us feel so welcome from the very beginning, and their team were most accommodating. We had the choice of fish or Sri Lankan curry for dinner and we chose fish! It was a beautiful piece of fish served with fresh vegetables and we also had some white wine which was delicious. Dinner was served just outside of the cabana with the lake to overlook, it was very special. We booked a sunrise safari which the family organised so we were up at 4am to meet our driver for the day. We were supplied with sandwiches, snacks and tea in a hamper for our trip which was a lovely touch. The safari was wonderful, we saw a leopard (albeit from very far away!), elephants, a jungle cat, some jackals, water buffalo and oh so many beautiful birds. The families son Vinuka joined us on safari and he was a pleasure to be with - such a friendly and kind chap who had a lot of great wildlife knowledge (thanks Vinuka!) We arrived back to the cabanas around 11am and had a short nap before having lunch out on the veranda. Their grandmother had prepared the most wonderful Sri Lankan curry and rice for us - there was so much food we felt very spoilt! Our time here was lovely and we really enjoyed getting to know this family. The business is still fairly new for them so go and show your support :)
